    Great little museum
Great museum. Free entry. 3 floors, the ground floor has an impressive collection of Phoenician and Roman remains. The second floor is mostly Spanish art, and the 3rd floor is dedicated to traditional puppets, which is a lot more interesting than it sounds! Definitely worth an hour of your time, we really enjoyed it.

    Great Space, Interesting Exhibits
The museum of Cádiz is a fun place to spend an afternoon. The history of the city is fascinating, beginning with the Phoenician arrival from whence the name Gadir originates (meaning stronghold/sea wall), supplanted by the Romans, who , using the original Phoenician roit, referred to the city as Gades and then, over the more modern period, the name morphed into the Cádiz we know now. The museum has a range of artifacts dating across all these periods and is free at present, although the artwork area is daily currently not open and charges may apply when that area is once again accessible.
