An awesome experience
I went together with my brother and parents. My brother and I tried horse riding for the first time, and it was a great place doing just that. We first booked a 1 hour trip, and to days after, we went for a 3,5 hour trip. It was beautiful nature and a really nice trip in the fantastic mountains. The "farm": I think there name now is: Picadero La Suerte! it is a pretty big place and we really felt like they treat the horses great. The staff: It is a family business and all the people where friendly. The only minus with the hole experience, was that it was a bit hard to communicate, since we speak English, and they mostly Spanish. All in all, a perfect place and way to explore the beautiful nature.

Fun, relaxed trail ride with friendly guides!
Going on a trail ride at Picadero la Suerte was a fun and memorable experience for both my boyfriend and myself. We joined a group of novices for a Saturday morning ride; the group was 6 guests in total (plus 3 guides). From the start, Julio, the main guide, greeted us very warmly and gave everyone a basic introduction to horseback riding. He kept things fun and light-hearted, so even people who felt a bit nervous were in a good mood. Our trail ride lasted an hour and a half, which was perfect. We spent most of it in the mountains and then came down into the town at the end. It was hilarious to traverse the small town center on horseback, waving hello to locals and sharing the road with an occassional car. The price was very reasonable, in fact, I was surprised it didn't cost more. In the end, Julio even insisted that his father give us a ride back to our hotel. We can't wait to return and do a longer trail ride on a different route, or possibly a private lesson!

Trail riding on horseback in the Sierra de Aracena
The family run Picadero La Suerte is a fantastic base for exploring the Sierra de Huelva on horseback. There are many paths and lanes which connect with Portugal, Extremedura and the Sierra Norte de Sevilla. The stables offer rides from 1-4 hours for all levels of riders but there are also tailor made options for experienced riders like myself and my husband, who have ridden trails that have lasted several days... The wooded countryside is varied and surprisingly green. We've spotted imperial eagles, booted eagles, red and black kites as well as wild boar, mongooses and deer. We've stayed various times at the house at the stables, which is spotlessly clean and has a south facing terraza with beautiful views of the Cerro de Castaño. It's an ideal place for anyone one who wants to ride, hunt for mushrooms, walk from village to village or simply relax by the pool in summer or to enjoy the log fire in winter! The family who run the stables couldn't be friendlier or more helpful! We love it and are regular visitors!
