Very nice a little hidden juwel on Costa del Sol
We did a half day trip from Estepona, and as such also visited Jimena de la Frontera, with the castle as a highlight. The view from the top is simply breathtaking, and shows all Andalusia is about. Definitively worth a visit.

Aim for the car park just below it ! Great views
Another ruined castle on the summit of a white washed village - seem to be in most of the high villages in this area. Great views. We parked at the bottom of town and was middle of the day in the high 20s. Not clever. The roads are extremely steep, it is a long climb to walk it, and is quite slippery on the shiny stones. There is a perfectly good car park just near the castle - some sort of one way system gets you there. There's a square some way below the castle with a couple of eateries - we had a really good light lunch at La Tasca and then stopped for a drink at Bar Espana on Calle Sevilla which has more great views from its balcony tables and looked like it does good food.
