special
Throughout the region of Andalusia there are quite a few houses with hanging flower pots. I think this is the most special place. In the evening there are also musicians who come and dance in the area. And especially in the vestibule from which the clock tower of the cathedral can be seen, very special

Picturesque Street
Calleja de las Flores is a wonderfully picturesque little street in Cordoba. The locals obviously take great pride in their street and their city and take exceptional measures to ensure their flower pots are well looked after. And we as visitors are thankful that they do, because they are indeed so beautiful.

Picture-Perfect Street of Flowers, White-washed Walls & Bell Tower
Instagram has propelled this pretty little street into fame. It is little more than a narrow corridor between whitewashed walls but a couple of things make it special. On either side of the street, the walls are lined with rows of flowers hanging in bright blue pots. We were there in winter before the geraniums had bloomed but even then the planter pots looked pretty. The other special thing is that from one end of the street, and from a certain angle, you can capture a photo with the Cathedral’s bell tower sitting perfectly in between the two rows of houses. It does make a good photo. It can get very crowded and it is worth remembering that there are many other similar narrow, winding, white-washed streets that also make great photos, especially in the historic Jewish Quarter. Cordoba is definitely not short of picturesque streets. One of the things we enjoyed most about Cordoba, was exploring these areas.
