Sherry, Sherry and more Sherry

Beautiful sherry winery, with plenty tasting options, with or without food. Bodegas Lustau is considered a world-class benchmark for top-quality wines. Lustau’s philosophy has remained unchanged since its inception in 1896: to provide consumers with the widest and most select range of Sherry specialties. In 2016, Bodegas Lustau was named Best Sherry Producer by the International Wine and Spirit Competition and ranked number 7 in the WAWWJ “Top 100 wineries in the world” annual ranking.

Superb sherry tour with wonderful sherry
Contrary to other comments we did not feel at all rushed on this stunning tour. We are ardent sherry drinkers and this is the third such tour we have been on with another planned later in the week. We drink Lustau sherry at home; it is a premium brand and ridiculously good value - because of the current lack of demand in the UK. The lady that ran the tour was mesmerising in her enthusiasm. We were 14 in total on our tour and that was fine. The “Cathedrals of Sherry “ are indeed amazing. Jerez is lovely. 22 degrees and sunny in January... great food, a short flight...you can keep the Caribbean. Southern Spain is the place.

Recommend this tour, short and interesting. Well organised.
Did a bit of research on Bodega tours and decided to go with this one. Not at all disappointed. Really informative tour where, unusually for this type of tour, the tastings were spread throughout the tour at the points that were relevant to the particular Sherry being described. This reinforced what Isabel our excellent guide was telling us and as well as adding to the education made for diversions from trudging round looking at barrels. Afterwards there was a tasting of the Vermouth in the shop area. This was a demonstration where being able to speak Spanish added to the experience as we were able to talk to the bloke in the shop about other products and especially the sherry vinegar and the brandy which he let us taste and we duly purchased. Maybe they should add it to the tour? All in all a good experience that is recommended.
