    Very beautiful indeed
This wonderful monument was right opposite our balcony so we got great views of it all the time. It is beautiful in the day but even better at night when it is lit up and it drips history from every angle. True, it is just a ruin but it is well kept and definitely worth a visit. You can buy a ticket for about €3 for it on its own or €5 if you want to visit the castle as well. My advice would be to get there early before the cruise ships arrive and you will have a much more relaxing experience.

A great insight into the history of Malaga
It was recommended that we visit here and it didn't disappoint. We bought our tickets at the entrance and had a choice of buying a single entry for here or paying 2 Euros more for a ticket which includes entry to the ruins of the Gibralfaro. My advice - pay the extra! The Alcazaba is a great time capsule of Spanish history. Some of the buildings date from the Moorish occupation of Spain, some are more recent. There are some nice views of Malaga and the coastline from the walls and a great collection of artifacts from the last thousand years. We spent a really nice hour and a half walking through the grounds and the buildings. There are some steep climbs in the grounds and some of the paths aren't even, but that's to be expected from an ancient building. There is a free audio guide which you can download to your phone which really helps your experience. This is well worth a visit.
