Fantastic little museum
Loved it, the museum has in-depth details about the Chachapoyas culture and very well presented. Made me wanna explore the area more. All information is in Spanish though. Officially the museum opens at 10.30am but you can show up earlier, I arrived at 9:30am, rang the door and was let in. It is an easy 45 min walk from Leymebamba direction Cajamarca, take the steps that you see when you come to a soccer field (2 sets of steps), afterwards on the main road turn left and continue for 15 min.

Este museo es un verdadero tesoro que no se debe perder. Brilliant museum.
One of the best museums that I have been to. It has a wide range of artefacts, clothes and the quipu counting and record keeping woven artefact. The mummies found at the Laguna del Condor are absolutely fascinating and wonderful to see. This museum is a real treasure and should not be missed.

Paradise in PERU
I adore archaeology and this must be one of the most beautiful gems in a beautiful place... small compact but with amazing artefacts including the mummies of the Chachapoyas people. I would go back time and time again to see this little gem of a archaeological find.... Don't tell everybody - this is my place`!
