Great location for an easy day out
We went to visit Laguna Pomacochas with our young son. The weather was so-so but we still enjoyed the visit to this lake. The view is great and the trip in the boat was fun (although not especially espectacular). The lakeside tourist center has gardens, a playground and several restaurants. It's a good place to spend a relaxing day.

A pleasant surprise
On the way to Chachapoyas you can find a nice lagoon. If you have time you can drive near and have lunch or coffee. Also some boats are available if you wish to take a ride. It´s a nice place to take pictures, specially on a sunny day.

Nice place for a coffee stop
The Laguna de Pomacochas is a georgeous lake on the way between Tarapoto / Moyobamba to Chachapoyas. At the moment, there is not a lot to do there, but it is a popular place for birders. You might want to stop at the lake for a little boat tour (by pedalo). Otherwise have lunch or a coffee at El Puquio restaurant, directly located on the main road.
