beautiful small lake.

This small lake is less than half en hour from Puerto Nariño with a small motor boat. We arrived there with our private guide for 3 days, Avner (Abner), who we recommend a lot. When we enter the lake we were using paddles instead of the motor. We have seen there pink dolphins, however they are seen only for seconds and dive back. We made a short walk on the Lakeshore to see the LA Seiva, a tree with a huge trunk and other vegetation. Then we fish piranhas. In Puerto Nariño my girlfriend (a Colombian chef) cooked these fishes with coconut. Abner helped us find all the necessary ingredients, because there is a way to do things over there. You can ask for Abner in Hotel Lomas del Paiyu in Puerto Narino.

The highlight of our time in Amazonas
There were pink and grey dolphins everywhere. Parrots, monkeys and birds galore. The trip through the flooded forest was unforgettable. We used Nemesio as our guide and boatman. Excellent. You can find him in the small house with the beautiful garden on the corner one block up from the front and one east from the main drag where Margarita's is. COP 70,000 for two in a good boat with an essential sunshade. Nemesis has no English but was vey patient with our minimal Spanish. If you are in Puerto Narino you've got to do this.

    Wildlife adventure
We saw so much wildlife on our boat ride here from Puerto Narino: iguanas sunning themselves in the trees, spider monkeys, parrots, toucans, a million other birds, and pink river dolphins.
