Taoga Niue Museum, Alofi, Niue

interesting

I found this museum very interesting (maybe more so because i lived on Niue from 1967 - 1970). Displays were well set out and the staff member i spoke with was helpful and informative. As a lot of items were lost in Cyclone Heta 2004 i think they are doing extremely well

    History of Niue
It was interesting , but the displays were a bit crowded due to lack of space in the building, there was only one room and therefore the displays were not able to be shown to full advantage. However what was there was an excellent view of Early Niue, with items showing the migration, Missionaries and general history and also photos of Cyclone Heta, early utensils etc. . It was still worth visiting for those reasons.
