Great time driving 4x4s in Haines, AK!!!
My family (ages from 6 to 71) took this tour in early June 2022 during our Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska, and it was the consensus "best thing we did" during our entire trip. The team at Takshanuk were great in making sure our tour fit within our excursion timeframe (5pm to 10pm) to Haines. They gave great instructions on where to meet on the dock once we exited our ship, and provided a shuttle to the 4x4 site. Once there, they provided quick training on how to operate the 4x4 vehicle (which none of us had ever done). They made it all super easy and fun. Then we began our tour which was absolutely fantastic. There were a few stops along the way to visit the lodge for snacks and later dinner. We also stopped at a couple of overlooks with great views of the valley, mountains, and water. The best thing of all is that they let you drive the 4x4 at your pace, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and go as fast as you'd like to go. We made our trip a little more action packed going up and down the hills quickly and driving thru puddles, ect. It was just a great trip. Again, can't say enough about this tour. Very well put together, organized. The views were fantastic. The cost was well worth it. And driving the 4x4s was a blast. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling thru Haines!

Fantastic
Excellent! This was a really nice adventure. The food and drink was fantastic, we were collected from the dock with really clear communication. On the trail, the vehicles were easy to manage despite the steep paths. There were fantastic views and hidden gems, waterfalls, a lovely lake, and spectacular views back over the valley. We had 3 kids with us between 4 and 11 and all fitted in the back seat comfortably. Cost-wise you get a lot more for your money than some other tours, and I felt like it was money well spent.
