Massive and beautiful glacier
Our group was 10 people. We've taken a walk near the glacier. All equipped with hiking sticks and ad-on spikes. It really has helped us "to stay in vertical position". Whenever you go over the ice, it's good to have these add-on spikes and the sticks too. I was surprised how big this glacier is. From the far it doesn't look so missive. During our walk I've taken many pictures which I've already shared with my friends. This is great attraction, worth time and money spent. I recommend it! RomanP

See them before they disappear!
Informative, fun and relaxing tour around the Matanuska Glacier. Rhiannon our tour guide was great, kept us safe, educated and entertained. We learnt a lot about glaciers. Dress in layers. We were lucky with the weather, but it is highly changeable.

Not sure its worth the money
The hike is a little expensive but the tour guides are knowledgeable and they do provide you with anything you might have forgotten, (like hiking boots, rain jacket, etc. Apparently there is only one access road to the glacier, which the guide company does not own, so on top of the fee you pay for the hike you also have to pay an extra $35 per person to the owner. Be prepared and dress in layers. You start out wearing a tank top but it gets windy and very cold. You will need gloves and hat or something to protect your ears.
