Wonderful view of the Alaska Range
Turn at the Soldotna "Y" onto the Kenai Spur Highway and follow the Spur all the way through three stop lights on Kenai's main through road. Turn left on Spruce Street and go to the end of the road. There is a large parking lot at the bottom of the hill with plenty of parking most of the time. This beach is extremely crowded in July because of the "dip net" subsistence fishery for Alaska residents. If you are a visitor you would enjoy seeing this fishery. It may be one of the craziest ways to fish you will ever see! Other times of the year you can enjoy the beach for a long walk with grand views. The Alaska Range juts out of Cook Inlet across the water with Mount Spur, Mount Redoubt and Mount Iliamna gracing the skyline from North to South. This is a walking beach not a driving beach. You can also see the mouth of the Kenai River from here. Bring gloves, a warm coat and a hat because most days there's a good breeze off the water and it can be nippy.

    Magnificent views
Kenai beach offers magnificent views of Cook inlet and The Alaskan Mt.Range.Easy walking when tide is out on sandy beach. Lots of unusual rocks formations as well as wildlife. We saw beluga whales, seals and bald eagles. This is a great place to walk, fish and picnic.
