Fun out of the way place that gives a glimpse of a rich part of AK history
We got to visit the museum in April between seasons, glad the curator was nice enough to make time for us, and glad we went to see the site. It was great to get a look into this era of Alaska. The museum can seem small at first glance but it is several buildings and each one is full of artifacts that offer a glimpse of a (nearly) forgotten time. Thanks to the Museum team and the town of Hope for preserving a neat part of Alaska history

Great Museum and staff.
Stopped in Hope for a night on our way back to Anchorage from Seward and it ended up a highlight on our journey. Stopped in this museum and really enjoyed it. The Curator was so pleasant and made us all feel welcome. Interesting layout with a feel of stepping back in time. A must stop if in the area.

Hope is worth the brief detour
On our first day leaving Anchorage, we were eager to see 'real Alaska'. The brief (15 mile) drive off the Seward Highway was scenic. There's not much to see in the town, but this museum is the highlight. Volunteer run, it has memorabilia in a log cabin, and a number of restored buildings, vehicle, and equipment in the rear.
