Painted ceiling
Beautiful medieval paintings in the ceiling and pretty church yard surrounding. Very calm but cozy! Worth a visit and not far by bike!

A hidden pearl
St Anne’s church on Kumlinge is a must if you ever come to Kumlinge in the Aland archipelago. The church is hidden in the forest a kilometer or so north of the village. It’s from the 14th century and some of the objects inside is of even earlier date, the 13th century. What make St Anne’s so valuable are the paintings covering the walls from the 15th century that are unique for Finland. The church is normally kept open for the public during the summer weeks.
