Surprisingly good indoor swimming pool - worth a trip on a rainy day

Uniquely situated by the beach Mariebad offers a beautiful sea view as it is built over the sea bay Slemmern in the Aland Islands. Enjoy the refreshing sea breeze when you sit in the outdoor cafe or on the patio that runs around the entire building. This unique location also features a beach for swimming in the salty waters of the bay. Both children and playful adults can enjoy themselves outdoors at the beach, or indoors in the popular recreational pools with waterfalls and swirls. From the tall tower, a 65,5 meter waterslide runs down into the pool from dizzy heights. Mariebad also has an exercise pool and a teaching pool. In the winter you may also go for a winter bath outdoors. If you're looking for peace and quiet, seek out the comfortable spa and relaxing area. Mariebad also has a cafe that serves warm appetizers and pastries. In the summertime there is an outdoor serving area. Welcome to Mariebad! The name Mariebad derives from both the city Mariehamn and bath (meaning "bad" in Swedish).

    Beautiful, clean and friendly !
A great bath house with a helpful and very friendly staff, and several different pools : An adventure pool, partially outdoors overlooking the bay of Slemmern......( great !), a 30 degree pool, a lap pool, a children’s pool, and stairs down to the water to take a swim in the Baltic ! There is also a jacuzzi plus several places to sit and chat in the pools ! Our favorite was the water slide, it is awesome, and not only for kids to enjoy !!!!!!! Only thing we missed was a unisex dry sauna.............. - There is a unisex steam sauna, but for the dry sauna, you have to stick to your gender’s changing & shower room facility. Men have to wear speedo’s in the pool, you can rent them, and they are quite OK, black with short legs......bring a padlock for your locker and a towel, otherwise you can rent them there ! Shampoo, conditioner and hairdryer you should also bring, plus a plastic bag for your wet swimsuit ! To get to Mariebad you can walk from center town, take a bus or ride a bike ! There is a Thai restaurant adjacent to the bath, but we did not visit.........

    Great activity for the family
Wr spent a couple of days in Mariehamn and needed an activity for the kids aside from shopping, walking and eating. Mariebad turned out to be perfect, just a short walk from the hotel Arkipelag. They ate strict when it comes to which bathing suits you can wear, but this is gor hygieniv reasons. If you don't have the right kind, they will provide you with one for no extra charge. The kids loved the water slide. There is also a full-size pool and lots of smaller pooms and jacuzzis. All in a all a great day out with the kids.
