Walker County Lake a quiet place set apart by God.

I went a few years ago but this site reminded me what a wonderful peaceful place this is set apart from the hustle of town although Jasper still isn't huge it is nice to get away. I imagine if I could throw a rock a little ways we could hit the lake. We were going toward the Corridor X and passed by the lake and we live in Union Chapel. It was then we said we really need to take a trip there and take the dogs because they would love it as well. We live in the country anyway but it is always nice to be around the peace of water. I call the Walker County Lake a quiet place set apart by God.

    Beautiful Lake
This is a really quite area. You can fish, rent a boat picnic or just come by to watch the birds and ducks. The operator is friendly. There is a bait shop, snacks and drinks are for sale. I love to go there just for a quiet visit.

Calm and peaceful location with lake fishing opportunities.
Beautiful 163-acre lake with a 2-acre pond for children, elderly and handicapped. The lake is stocked with catfish, bluegill, etc. A dock and boat launch is available for public use. There is a newly constructed pavilion. Picnic tables are scattered around lake. The lake is open daily, sunrise-sunset. It is closed Wednesdays. The lake is closed during the winter monts from mid-December to mid January every year. There are some fees for use. A daily permit fee is $3, boat launch is $3, annd boat rental is $5/day
