Worth the trip

This interesting little museum offers information on local history, Native American artifacts, antique sea-faring items and biological findings. The lone guide is friendly and informative and greets visitors with the history of the building which was once a one-room school house among other things. I found the 500 year old nineteen foot long dug-out canoe as well as the dolphin scull particularly interesting. My daughter took home some shards of Native American pottery which was free. Worth stopping by if you are in the area. Admission was free.

Quaint and Lovely-Rich in history of the area
Who in the world wrote the tagline underneath the Indian and Sea Museum? Get real, that is not a respectful description. Basic English 101..instead of "...Indians" describe the type of Indians and a brief description of when they arrived on Orange Beach and how long they inhabited the area. Please change this. It is a lovely structure rich with history and original architecture. Bless the Docent, it is not easy working alone for hours on end, I'm so glad he was a good conversationist. Charming!

One room school house that gives you a peak into local history.
This one room school house is the home to the Indian & Sea museum. The curator is a Navy veteran with a passion for local history. Eric was very informative and was able to answer all of our questions. He made the visit very personal. The museum has a very eclectic collection. A great place for a 30 minute stop. The complex has public restrooms for those traveling.
