My wife and I camped in our RV at the campground in Lake Blakley state park and we loved it, very quiet and sited are spaced far enough apart to feel like you are secluded but not totally by yourself, the area is beautiful and wooded and has shady spots and just enough sun to enjoy the cool days outside the camper without being too cold. They have full hook ups and fire rings and you buy fire wood at the check in office for $6.00 a bundle. All sites are pull through sites with gravel and have picnic tables at each site. Try it, I think you'll like like.

Mobile River Cruise
My wife and I joined the October 21st three hour cruise of the Mobile River with Author John Sledge. John's narrative, supplemented very well by the input from the Captain, made for a very informative and enjoyable morning. Any of the cruises sponsored by the park are well worth the time and cost. The Delta is a treasure!

Great Place to Pitch a Tent for a Day or Two
My family have camped twice at Blakeley, and spent a day visit there previously. We have really enjoyed the location and experience. I like Civil War history, and history in general, and this has some interesting spots to review. Comfortable, semi-isolated camp sites with convenient facilities nearby. The only comment for the park management is that the bathroom/shower facilities could be a bit cleaner. I know it's challenging to keep up with scores of visitors, but we have been to other locations that were better maintained. Overall, though, we highly recommend this park for any individual or family, for a day or weekend.
