Impeccable customer service and delicious food

We stopped at Blalock several times on our trip to Orange Beach. Their seafood is unbeatable and so fresh! They also have impeccable customer service. On our last visit, I asked if they had any more of the delicious looking caramel cakes and cupcakes I’d seen the time before. The young man who was helping us asked the manager and he came out to greet us. He then offered to see if he could get one for us from his wife, who was the baker. He ended up arranging for us to pick up a caramel cake for our New Year’s celebration the next morning. We were so grateful for their impeccable service and kindness. This combination of delicious seafood and the cake made our trip and our holiday. Thanks so much! We will definitely be back on our future vacations to OB.

Great Fresh Seafood with a couple of caveats
The fresh fish and shrimp are very good. We had mahi mahi, tri-tail, and red shrimp on various visits. Very nice selection of local and specialty spices, oils, marinades, crackers, etc. We were satisfied enough with the quality of the fish to visit five or six times over two weeks to buy seafood. The one issue that prevents five stars is that several items we examined on the shelves were past due dates, including refrigerated sausages. We pointed that out, and they were gone the next day, but I can't help but suspect they went into the freezer case. Also, very inconsistent wearing of masks.

    Decent food, pricey crab legs
We got snow crab and shrimp steamed to go. The food was good but the shrimp were slightly over cooked as they were a little mushy and the crab legs a little under as they were still cold. I just have one question, why are crab legs more expensive here than they are in Illinois?? $23 for a lb on snow crab?? Sheesh. Way cheaper at Publix.
