Great free place!
When acquiring the home and stating its purpose, John T. Oliver, Jr., past President and founding Board Member of Walker Area Community Foundation said "It has long been our belief that our town needed a proper place to display and recognize our rich heritage, as well as a place to host cultural events. This colonial revival home - when restored to its original dignity provides just such a venue.

Bankhead House & Heritage Center offers so much. Checking the website will show you interesting events that you may be interested in for the whole family. Everyone needs to check it out.

A Great Little Museum
The Bankhead House and Heritage Center, has a great tribute to the Bankhead's and 6 other gentleman who served in the U,S. Congress. 110 years of Congressional service is represented there. They also have a County exhibit, a small town exhibit (this time featuring Dora, AL) A military tribute room, Local Art and a room dedicated to Tallulah. This was a fun afternoon, with lots to see, the Ladies running the museum were very knowledgeable and gracious. Jasper can be very proud of their heritage and their museum. There is no fee, but donations are accepted.
