Literature made relevant
This is the best museum in Baku. The museum has guides who speak English, and they take you on a tour of Arabic, Turkic, Persian, and Azeri authors from the 9th through 20th centuries. I found myself anxious to read Nizami's work after the visit, and I am now one of his fans. Lovely building in convenient location near Fountain Square.

Nice sculptures
After finishing our old city tour, we reached this museum. Being Monday, it was closed and so I had to visit this museum from outside only. There are beautiful sculptures and photographs outside the museum where people can know about the historical figures of Azerbaijan. Its good for taking pictures as well.

Great Tour
An excellent museum located between the old city and fountain square. To enter, knock on the door next to the main entrance if it seems closed. You are asked to wear covers over your shoes to protect the carpets in the museum. Entrance with an english speaking guide is 10 manat. Staff speak fluent english and are well versed in the great history of Azeri and general Caucasus literature. Tour takes approximately an hour and take you through time from early 9th century to present day. Insight into priceless pictures, ornaments, carpets, wall art etc. Well worth a visit if you are into real history, especially poetry and fictional literature.
