We went on a Friday morning. It wasn't overly crowed. You have to swim in a relatively small area between some flags, but there was plenty of room on this weekday morning. There are people trying to sell crafts to you, but they took a polite no for an answer. I was here 33 years ago, and the beach certainly doesn't appear to be any worse than it was there. An actual rubbish tip behind the lighthouse. Its a shame as this is an interesting sight to see and the local government should really tidy it up and invest in the area as many tourists come to visit this lighthouse...........what a waste. tut tut. Was offered an hours tour of the lighthouse and to get the local history but declined as I couldn't see the point of spending an hour here. 20 minutes max and I was gone. See more..

We were two guys from Sweden, with only snowboarding experience, that wanted to learn how to surf. I’m so glad I visited Osu Castle. The guide was brilliant and gave such an impactful, informative tour of the castle spanning so much history. You can see the awful history of the trade of enslaved people as well as recent history such as where modern presidents of Ghana lived and worked. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave poignant descriptions of all the places we saw. If you go just make sure to walk past the government building still in use to get to the castle. Everyone was helpful in pointing me in the right direction but it was confusing and a little intimidating to walk up to a big closed gate with guards. I’m giving 4 stars because it was kind of hard to leave if you don’t have a car with no taxi rank or Uber drivers wanting to come that far. Took me about 45 minutes and walking further up to main roads before I could get an Uber back to the city centre. See more..

We liked this beach and have visited there couple of times in 2010 and 2013. I also heard that friends have enjoyed spending a day here 2014. I liked the beach but swam in the pool at Ramada, it is not expensive and you get good food, also pizza and tasty drinks from the restaurant that is located near by the pool. We visited Accra, Ghana in August 2019 and couldn't be more pleased. We are from the US so of course, we wanted to see what the malls were like in other places. While it is a smaller mall, it did have everything one needs in a mall area. We enjoyed donuts and coffee at the cafe, we added minutes on our phones at MTN, shopped at ShopRite grocery store, visited Pandora (which needs more African themed jewelry), and made several purchases at clothing stores and the wax cloth store Woodin and ate at the Piano Bar lounge (which took quite a bit of time to receive our order, which I'm told is normal there). Overall, a thumbs up and nice walk. It is a about 30-45 minutes outside of Accra central. We were staying in the Primrose Lodge airbnb across the street, so it was prime location for us to regularly visit. See more..

The front of the showroom has been removed because they built too close to the road. So, it’s a bit of an experience if you climb up to the showroom.
