  2. 5.0 Wytheville's Smallest Church (18 reviews)
    - Nice Little Church and Good People
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
    Wytheville's Smallest Church image
Because a few parishioners were there caring for the grounds, we learned that the church had been built because its founder had seen the "America's Smallest Church" in Georgia, whereupon he came home and said, "We have to have one!" It is nearly the same size as the one in Georgia and they have regular services. When we visited, there was red tape all over the outer walls. The church had been damaged by a hail storm and they were awaiting the materials to repair it. Do not trust you GPS with the address. Mine took me in the wrong direction though on the correct road. The Farmer's Daughter Boutique image
We come to Wytheville about every 3 or 4 months and my wife just has to stop at “The Farmer’s Daughter”. Most of the time it’s a beeline to the Spartina handbags! Must find out what’s new and for sale at a discount. She loves the jewelry and finds some clothing. She’s like a kid in a candy store. She acts like a kid high on candy too while in there. The picture of the Spartina’s is just a small (small) sample of her collection that she bought here. The owner is so friendly and remembers us when we come in. It’s great to see a welcoming friendly face! Go see her Wizard of Oz’s setup ‍♂️ See more..

    - Cobb Hill Alpacas
    Farms
***Cobb Hill Alpacas in Wytheville, VA*** Located 3 miles from I-81 and I-77 and 15 minutes from a big-box supermarket, is this beautiful alpaca farm. Tom and Kim are the proprietors and share information about the alpacas and area. There are gorgeous areas to walk and view the farm, countryside, and mountains. It was enjoyable to sit on the swing and watch the otter swim in the creek. The gift shop has a lot of variety. I love their selection of socks, roving wool, and yarn. They have an apiary. Their honey is absolutely delicious. Yummy eggs are for sale, too. This farm is worth a detour. See more..

Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum image
The First Lady's birthplace museum at her childhood home speaks to the life of one of the most influential, controversial, and politically significant women of the 20th Century. Edith Bolling [Galt] Wilson was not only the First Lady of President Woodrow Wilson, but was also a descendant of Pocahontas, and related to Martha Washington, Thomas Jefferson, J.E.B. Stuart, and Robert E. Lee. The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum houses artifacts, furniture, books, letters, photographs, and documents owned by Mrs. Wilson or donated by family members and friends. The second floor Bolling home is located above the Museum. While many historians have referred to Mrs. Wilson as "The Secret President" because of her role in our country's history during President Wilson's debilitating stroke in 1919, there is much more to this story. Please visit to learn more about First Lady Edith Bolling Wilson, from her birth and her incredible journey from Wytheville to the White House and beyond. See more..

Lemon and Lavender were favorites. Wild deer roam while you shop. The tour of the herbs helped with our own gardening plans. A wonderful stop a few miles off the beaten path. One of the nicest places our family has visited in quite awhile. Paradise in the Woods. See more..

This is a good size antique mall with over 100 dealers. The main aisles were wide and clear and there were only a couple of cluttered booths. All the others were very well organized, room to move around, and you could see everything in the booth without having to move items. You can find small collectibles, pottery, furniture, books/magazines/comic books, musical items, NASCAR items, mountain crafts, advertising, country items, toys, lighting, art, vintage clothes/jewelry, glassware, cookie jars, kitchenware, china and much more. It is just 12 miles north of I-81 from exit 70. Big Walker Lookout features the BW Country Store with 25 artisans & crafters' handmade works. The folks here are so nice! We stopped to see the pencil, and a sale person told us about the giant ✂️ inside. He asked if we would like to see those, and of course we said yes! The history behind it all is interesting. He gave us free postcards, notepads, and gave the kids tape measures. Seriously, who does that! 20. 4.0 Great Lakes to Florida Highway Museum (15 reviews)
    - Great Place if You're a Boomer, Or Want to Show You Kids Interesting Recent History
    Speciality Museums
Great Lakes to Florida Highway Museum image
Things which may be helpful: 1) Go to the visitor's center to buy $4 tickets, and you can walk to the museum from there; 2) Museum is small and can take 10 minutes or an hour. This interesting, preserved, old gas station shows several things from the old Route 23 going from Chicago to Florida, before all of the current interstates were built. The hand operated, gas pumps, patented around 1915, are well maintained and not seen often. A person from the visitor's center walked with us to the museum and stayed to answer questions until we were done. There is no parking at the museum itself. Lots of old items from the 1940's-60's. Maps and scrapbooks are available for review. Also tools, gas station items, and a coke refrig from the 40's. This is worth a half hour (or more) of your time to see. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below. See more..

    Antique Station image
I was headed home to Georgia but did a U turn on I 77 to stop at this place. Antique Station was by far one of the best places I have ever been. Everything in the store was at least 20% off. The prices were very reasonable. I truly had to resist temptation and focus on specific pieces. I wish I lived closer; I would be in this place weekly. See more..

    - some controversial memorabilia being sold here
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Antique Shops
    Old Fort Antique Mall image
I would like to start out by mentioning the controversial nazi items being sold here. I don't enjoy seeing such reminders of hate but I can just walk right past without even looking at it; however I do realize that it can be very offensive to some people. There are over 60 dealers inside and you can find rare dolls, country items, books, coke items, furniture, glassware, pottery, vintage jewelry, small collectibles, art, ceramics (I found a vintage lemon juicer I didn't have), lighting, tools, toys, some unique items, and much more. The main aisles were wide and clear but there were a couple of cluttered booths which we just passed by. It's not worth knocking something over or tripping. See more..
