   Went here as a kid and have now introduced stock car racing to the next generation. Yes kids, this is like a video game, but in real life. Prelims start about 7 p.m. and finals finish between 10 and 11 p.m., depending on how many crashes happened throughout the night. Occasionally a car flips over or catches on fire, but safety is strong here with rescue equipment at the ready in the rare event of someone actually getting hurt. Usually it’s just a dramatic wait until the well-secured driver pops out of the car and waves to the crowd. It’s loud, so bring ear protection for the kids. It’s dusty, so don’t wear white.
