  1. 5.0 The Book Teller (3 reviews)
    - Great story in a fascinating building
    Speciality & Gift Shops
    The Book Teller image
I'm not much of a shopper and rarely step into a store, particularly when I'm on vacation. But I do like to check out a bookstore, and I'm so glad I visited the Book Teller. The merchandise is equal parts books and products from local artists (and local beekeepers and Kombucha brewers!).I purchased a used book that I'd been wanting for $2, a jar of local honey, and spent some time speaking with the charming owner about the history of the building. It's a former bank, and the mystery section is located in the bank vault. Look a little closer at a counter where books are displayed. That's bullet proof glass and gun portals from another era. The Book Teller is definitely worth a visit, even if you're not much of a shopper - but if you are a shopper, you will love the handmade jewelry and textile products found here at very reasonable prices. - Great place for a family stop
    Parks
This park is a great place with a little bit of everything. Four great trails, each reasonable length for a short family hike - longest is 1 mile; shortest is 0.5 miles. There are There's lots of different terrain ranging from springs and wetlands with a variety of vegetation, to up some hills for pine trees and deciduous trees common to Wisconsin. The trails have numbers which sync up to descriptions. You can overlook a lake - or be in a wilderness and feel you're away from it all. There are picnic tables at varying places on the trails as well as small grills and the pavilion has a hook up for electronics. There is additional parking just a bit past the main entrance. 6. 4.0 Hang Glide Wisconsin (1 review)
    - Definitely Go Hang Gliding!
    Wednesday: Parasailing & Paragliding
    Hang Glide Wisconsin image
Super fun and exhilarating ride! Our whole group of 10 people were able to glide in a little over 3 hours. They taught us everything we needed to know and our rides were safe and comfortable. They provided us with all the gear we needed, glasses, helmets, gloves. Flying like a bird is the best thing ever. The staff was professional and experienced and we were in good hands. If you add on the media package, be sure to check it before you leave because some of ours didn't work or only recorded a couple of minutes of flight. I get motion sickness really badly, so I took Dramamine beforehand, but it didn't really work and I did get a bit nauseated on the flight. I told my pilot ahead of time and he took it easy on me and didn't do any wicked turns or roller-coastering. So while I wouldn't do it again, I am so glad I did it once. It was totally worth the minor discomfort to be able to fly like a bird. See more..

  8. 4.0 Lone Tree Bluff (1 review)
    - Great scenic view
    Lookouts
    Lone Tree Bluff image
This scenic lookout is part of the Kettle Moraine State Forest but it is separate and requires an admission fee. The parking lot is located on the bottom of the bluff. They do not sell the admission stickers or have a place to pay the fee there so you would have to go online or purchase the sticker somewhere else before parking in the lot. At the beginning of the hike, they have box with a hiking map for a 25 cent donation. The hike started with climbing 89 log steps to a trail leading to the scenic glacial lookout. It was a challenging climb but the view of farm fields, pastures and hills were amazing. It is not a popular place and the trail is not well maintained and narrow. I would not make a special trip here but if you are in the area, it is worth a stop for the view. See more..
