1. 5.0 The Florida Quilt Museum (3 reviews)
   - Amazing display of quilts and other needlework
   Saturday: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Speciality Museums
   The Florida Quilt Museum is housed in three large rooms, each bursting with quilts and other needlework. There is a changing display; when I was there it was of basket quilts. Several dozen basket quilts, both vintage and modern, were hung, along with well-written descriptions of the quilts. Many other quilts were displayed. Other displays when I was there was a group of old child's sewing machines (one of which brought back fond memories!); a grouping of stunning mini-quilts; and hand-made lace (knitted, crocheted, bobbin). Donna, the volunteer on duty when I was there was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.... a pleasure to chat with. Within a block from the museum is a quilting store jam-packed with fabrics, a small restaurant and soda shop, and an old ice house with displays (time prevented me from going there). See more..

   How sweet it was to take a bike ride from Fanning Springs to Cross City. Had we had more time, we would have kept on riding! The trail was so well maintained; in fact when we were riding, we passed a worker clearing the trail with a blower attached to his golf cart. He was so very respectful. The views were nice, giving a flavor of this part of the country. The bridge was the highlight. Signage was helpful when it came to any roadways we were to cross. Most of this part of the trail was exposed, so if you are sensitive to the sun, beware! Thanks to the Florida State Parks system. You've done well with this State Trail! See more..

   Saturday: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Bars & Clubs
   While I mostly go to Veterans posts, (VFW, AMVETS, Or LEGION) I've been dropping in to the City Bar for 20 years. While I'd prefer draft beer, bottles work just fine. The people are nice and the place is very clean. A nice place to relax and have a couple beers. See more..
