Taste of Thomasville Food Tour image
My favorite part of the experience was trying food from different restaurants. My favorite was the first stop, Jonah's Fish and Grits, it was delicious . The walking tour was amazing to learn that so many famous people have vacationed in this small Georgia town. Diane did a fantastic job giving short explanations of the restaurants, keeping our tour moving at a nice pace to enjoy the food, and walk through the town at a leisurely pace to tell us some of the history behind the historical buildings we walked by on the way to each restaurant. Excellent tour!! I highly recommend staying after the tour to enjoy some leisurely shopping and experience one of the restaurants for dinner. See more..

    The Ritz Amphitheater image
The amphitheater is located just as you enter Thomasville on 319. It is a relaxing and well kept theater. You can put your blanket or chairs down and go have dinner at a local restaurant, come back in a hour or two, and they are still where you put them! Locals are friendly and I’ve been there a dozen times and not one problem. Singles, couples, families all are having fun and NEVER an issue. Once a got a pizza from A local restaurant, brought it in and my wife and I dinned under the stars. You will love it here. My only (small complaint) is for an amphitheater the bathrooms are small , but clean. See more..
  12. 4.5 Pebble Hill Plantation (304 reviews)
    - Number One Must See in Thomasville!
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Historic Sites
    Pebble Hill Plantation image
Pebble Hill Plantation is an estate of 3,000 acres located in Thomasville, Georgia. With two distinct eras, Pebble Hill Plantation is rich in its history and its beauty. Established in the 1820's by Thomas Jefferson Johnson, it survived the Civil War and Reconstruction. Johnson's daughter Julia Ann Mitchell continued to own the historic Pebble Hill until the 1890's. Pebble Hill's modern history begins with its acquisition by Howard Melville Hanna from Cleveland, Ohio in 1896. At that time Thomasville had become a resort area frequented by northern visitors. Hanna's daughter, Kate Hanna Ireland Harvey was given Pebble Hill in 1901 by her father. She enjoyed the site as a winter home and shooting plantation and developed Pebble Hill as it is today. After Mrs. Harvey's death in 1936, the property passed to her daughter, Elisabeth Ireland Poe, who died in 1978. Through her generosity, a private foundation was established so her beloved Pebble Hill could be enjoyed by the public. See more..

Farmer's Daughter Vineyards & Tasting Room image
My daughter and I woke up in Thomasville to a closed downtown! It was a Sunday so I guess that's the reason? Disappointed because it was so charming with the beautiful cobblestone roads and lovely stores. Lucky for us, the one place that was open was Farmer's Daughter Tasting Room. Made our day:). Jennifer the hostess was adorable, friendly and knowledgeable. We had the special of the day, a fruity delicious Sangria. The place is beautiful also, with a delightful display of corks on the wall and merchandise you can buy. I bought a wine glass to remember our time at Farmer's Daughter. See more..

    Sweet Grass Dairy Marketplace image
If you're in Thomasville at dinner time this is a good choice for a smart, chic atmosphere and really good food. I had steak/frites which I rarely eat. The steak was quite good and the frites were as good as they get. Just delicious. I'm tempted to return and just eat French fries. Prices are very reasonable and service was excellent. Sweet Grass is best known for excellent cheeses - and they're good. But the steak/frites is worth a trip. See more..

  21. 4.5 Cherokee Lake Park (7 reviews)
    - Great Loop Walk on a Sunny Day
Thursday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Piers & Boardwalks • Scenic Walking Areas
    Cherokee Lake Park image
My wife and I visited Cherokee Park for a walk when in Thomasville. The trail around Cherokee Lake is about 1.5 miles of partially shaded trail. There were many turtles and Canadian geese around including young ones. The grades are minimal which makes for an easy stroll. Part of the trail is boardwalk over the lake. The part is bisected by a railroad trestle bridge which is really awesome to see up close. The only downside was the number flies and the lack of a breeze. Otherwise this is a great place for a walk. 22. 4.5 Hubs And Hops (6 reviews)
    - Nice selection of beer and ciders
    Thursday: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Bars & Clubs
    Hubs And Hops image
Decided to drop by and try a new cider. I'm not much of a beer drinker. Tried the Blood Orange Cider, and it was really nice. Needed a small bite to go with it, so I opted for pretzel chips and pimento cheese. Snack selection isn't all that extensive, but most who come here aren't wanting food anyway. There are craft beers and ciders (that are rotated regularly), regular beers, and a limited selection of wines. I came during Happy Hour in the late afternoon, but before 5:00, so there weren't many patrons. Enjoyed the time and the drink! See more..

  24. 2.5 Country Oaks Golf Course (3 reviews)
    - Winter Condition in early March
    Golf Courses
    Country Oaks Golf Course image
So disappointed today - haven't played here in a while. Clearly, it's not well maintained over the winter. A couple of the greens were ok, but most weren't. So many bare spots in the fairways, sometimes you have to move your ball so your shot won't damage your club. If you get the $20 rate, maybe it's worth it for the practice - but not really sure about that, as the ground is mostly hard and not grassy. Not at all what it was like at the end of last season. However, it is nice that it's all surrounded by woods - but beware the leaves that might hide balls! Will try again in a few months. Still reasonable for practice range balls. See more..
