   While visiting family in Pella, Iowa we also visited all the Freedom Rocks that were close to our route. The rocks are painted by Ray “Bubba” Sorensen II and are beautiful artistic reverence to our troops and each one has a tie with the local community. Sully, Iowa Freedom Rock - The west side portrays a soldier at war and the same man on his farm. The quote is from General George Washington. The east side of the rock honors Revolutionary War Hero Sgt. William Jasper whom Jasper County, Iowa was named after. The other side depicts an Eagle with a Silver Star Medal and Purple Heart in his Talons. I highly recommend a visit to all 99 Freedom Rocks. See more..
