  1. 5.0 Dale Valley Vineyard & Winery (9 reviews)
    - Beautiful One Room Schoolhouse Winery
    Wineries & Vineyards
Dale Valley Vineyard & Winery image
Take a short drive to the beautiful countryside north of Stuart, Iowa where the owners have moved a one room schoolhouse across a field to its current site. Tracy is happy to serve sips of different wines produced from their own vineyards on the site. My favorite is V's Berry wine, which goes well with chocolate. The warmed spiced serendipity has a welcoming taste. All the wines here are wonderful as is the charm of the winery! See more..
  2. 5.0 Johnie's Tap (1 review)

    Johnie's Tap image
Johnie's Tap was established in December 1951, and has been going strong ever since. A fantastic "local watering hole" that isn't fussy or fancy...it just does what it's the best at...taking care of its customers with their adult beverage of choice, and ensuring that the patrons get relaxed, are able to shift into a slower gear, kick back, play some pool, listen to some jukebox music...just generally enjoy !!! Locally owned and operated, be sure to stop by the next time your in the area...you will be glad you did !!! Johnie's is about as local as you can get...and it's all for the good !!! Enjoy your visit. See more..

    White Pole Road image
The White Pole Road is a preservation of part of the historic first automobile road offering a route across the state of Iowa before the advent of the highway system. It is complete from Dexter on the east to Adair on the west and passes through Stuart, Menlo, and Casey. There are many attractions to see along the way. In addition to maps online, there is an audio book on CD that provides turn-by-turn history along the route. See more..

Bonnie and Clyde Bank Robbery Site image
The historical signage is all that is left, but that's enough for me. It was only five minutes off of my route to Des Moines, IA from Omaha, NE. The building was bought by a hair salon and they are not friendly if you ask about the historical event. See more..
