  2. 5.0 Collectible & Antique Chair Gallery (8 reviews)
    - Very educational
Wednesday: Spent < 1 hour Speciality Museums
Collectible & Antique Chair Gallery image
Three room museum with a gift shop, exhibiting a Guinness World Record Collection of miniature chairs, (not doll furniture). There is a chair design category for every letter of the alphabet, such as functional lamps, tea pots, inkwells, clock, all major holidays, and much more. The chairs are displayed within multiple cases with colorful and exciting background themes. A glass covered claw foot tub garden exhibits chairs with attached floral arrangements. The renovated museum building is a house constructed in 1850 on Main Street, in Georgia's historic Stone Mountain Village. It is handicap accessible and provides free rear parking. The Village is listed on the National Register of historic places to visit. The museum building survived the 1864 Civil War attack on Stone Mountain Village. A visit to this unique museum will provide a triple treat, historic collection, historic building, and historic location. "You must see it to believe it." See more..

    Summit Skyride image
If ever anywhere near Stone Mountain I’d say it’s a must but when coupled with the Christmas parade, tree lighting & laser show the experience is elevated a ton. The trolly ride to the top is only about 2 minutes & I highly recommend going while the sun is shining or right as dusk for some truly breathtaking views. On this particular day we could see the city of Atlanta. Prices are relatively cheap & please opt for the “V.I.P” option to ensure you don’t have to endure the long lines. See more..

It was pretty magnificent. Before I arrived, I was a little hesitant about the Confederate Memorial part, but they handled it well. The main focus was the beauty of nature and the mountain. I would highly recommend for families who like nature. See more..

    - Awesome, a must see

    Stone Mountain Glass Shop image
Walking around the base of stone mountaon after hiking up and back down I wondered into this little glass blowing shop. All the other places around the mountain are tourits traps and this one probably is too but it was really cool to see them making the glass peices. They answered my questions about the process and were very friendly. I bought a shot glass and a glass bracelet as presenys for family members. They were a little pricey but i figured i was helpung to support the artists. Where else could these guys do this type of work... yah know? Absolutely loved it. I will go back again when I'm in town. Center Town Gallery image
If you are going to see Stone Mountain, a great side trip is to Stone Mountain Village. This is the small Mayberry-ish walking town just outside Stone Mountain Park. Our favorite shop here was Center Town Gallery. It was packed with beautiful art and glass works. The town has several restaurants (see The Sweet Potato Café), a bakery and many terrific shops for art and antiques. Worth at least an afternoon! See more..

    Stone Mountain Park image
The Stone Mountain Park boasts over 3,200 acres of natural beauty and is one of Georgia's most popular attractions. Take a five-mile train around the impressive mountain and learn about the history of its bas-relief carving. Then, catch the sky ride to the mountaintop to enjoy the fantastic views of the surrounding valley. Alternatively, you can hike the path leading uphill or trek through the numerous other trails within the park. Camp overnight to play some mini-golf in the morning and visit historic landmarks like Grist Mill. You might also want to visit on summer evenings to watch the world’s longest-running laser show. – Tripadvisor See more..
  15. 4.0 Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park (237 reviews)
    - Day Park!
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park image
Was first visit to Stone Mnt. The granite rock size is amazing! The hike up the trail is exhausting to say the least but well worth it. We ventured down the path lest traveled on our way back down the rock! Through the woods are trails that run all the way to the parking lot and will keep you off the rock. Wonderful views of the skyline of Atlanta. Several things to do for the price of parking $20.00, but 3 things inside the park you must buy tickets for ($34.99 Each +tax) - the skyride up and down the mnt, the museum, and the historic village. Snow tuning is available from November til Feb. It was closed when we went but they had not removed the ride yet. See more..

  17. 4.0 Yellow River Park (21 reviews)
    - Delightful day!
Spent 2-3 hours Equestrian Trails • Hiking Trails
    Yellow River Park image
Years ago, when I had two grandchildren, we went to the Yellow River Game Ranch. It was a disappointment. When I read that it was open under new ownership, I made the trip with now three granddaughters, ages 12,10 and 6. It was a lovely experience. The animals are well cared for and the park is clean. The girls loved feeding the animals healthy treats (lettuce and carrots). If you were disappointed by the old park, please try this new one. It's a delightful place to visit. See more..
  18. 4.0 Get Air (4 reviews)
    - The art of bouncing
    Game & Entertainment Centers
Get air is something all of us dreamed of when we were kids. Bouncing on trampolines, playing dodgeball while on a trampoline, finishing a Rubik’s cube... Well, maybe not that last one, but the first two turned into a crazy reality when you enter the dreamland known as Get air. If you think that trampoline in your backyard is good,1:you don’t get out often, and 2:your mind is about to get blown from all the jumping, obstacle-coursing, and ball-throwing fun of Get air. 20. 3.5 Southland Golf & Country Club (8 reviews)
    - well-provisioned venue
    Golf Courses
The course measures 6643 yards from the back/Blue tees; however, it plays much longer due to the severe elevation changes on many holes. Most players choose to play from the Member/White tees, which play between 6039 and 6300 yards depending on the season. World Famous, Stone Mountain is visible on most holes in the distance and is a good barometer for the “break” of your putts-if in doubt, most putts break away from the mountain. Hole #18, a 512 yard par five, is our signature hole, and one of the best finishing holes in Atlanta. This hole will reward the accurate player who can negotiate a drive onto the narrow fairway, lined with OB on the left and a lake the entire length of the hole on the right side; and will dare the longer hitter to attempt a lengthy second shot to an inlet green, tucked over the corner of the Lake and surrounded by numerous bunkers. 21. 3.0 Rainforest Mini Golf (8 reviews)
    - Enjoyable time!
    Wednesday: Game & Entertainment Centers
Mini golf establishments are a dying venue. This one looks like it is barely surviving. Everything, and I do mean everything, needs either a lot of TLC or complete replacement. That being said...my family had a blast! Mini golf is fun regardless your age. As long as you approach this not expecting a 1st class establishment you shouldn't be disappointed. See more..
  22. 3.0 Stone Mountain Old Post Office Emporium (2 reviews)
    - nice but nothing special
    Antique Shops
Stone Mountain Old Post Office Emporium image
This place was well organized and had some very nice things, but they really didn't offer the type of collectibles we look for. The lady working there was extremely nice but followed us back to one area talking about some of the things they had there (they used to have a civil war museum and are now selling some of the item in this store). You couldn't get angry with her because she was so nice but when we travel we plan out each day with the places we want to go and really didn't have time to listen to her stories. My husband stayed behind to talk with her while I went through the store. It's worth visiting if you are in the area. See more..

  24. 2.0 Hidden Acres Nature Preserve (1 review)
    - Nature can be treacherous
    Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM Parks
    Hidden Acres Nature Preserve image
The peace and serenity were shattered by derelicts blasting their boomboxes while getting baked in their junkers. Still, I tried to keep an open mind and explore, but my Spidey sense kept telling me that something was amiss. The boardwalks over the lake were in great shape, and the area was generally clean, but the bathrooms were all boarded up. In the second lake pavilion farther from the parking lot, I chanced upon a gutted purse. Some of its contents were scattered about; most of it was gone. Suddenly, the red lights of “danger” flashed in my head, and I knew I had to get out. I would have liked to have explored more, but I was afraid to leave my car unattended any longer. If you still want to risk exploring, then hide your valuables, lock your doors, and watch your back! The natural setting is gorgeous but also ghetto! You have been forewarned! See more..
