A sky diving adventure has been on my bucket list for a long time. I recently took the plunge (pun intended) and made an on-line reservation with The Jumping Place, a sky diving center and drop zone in nearby Statesboro, Georgia. From start to finish, I was treated with courtesy and respect, and the adventure I was about to embark upon was explained in detail. I was impressed with the emphasis placed on safety, and team members patiently answered all questions. My Tandem Instructor (TI), Casey, has made over 7,000 jumps, and his leadership made me completely at ease and confident in his ability to provide a most enjoyable experience, which he did. Thanks to the professionalism of the entire Jumping Place team, I experienced an epic adventure, one that will provide me with an exhilarating memory for years to come. This course would be considered to be in the middle of no where to many, but if you are anywhere close and want to play golf, this is a great course. It is beautiful and well maintained. You’ll feel like you are playing on one of the PGA courses you see on TV. Prices are reasonable and they participate in Georgia’s Youth on Course program that has reduced rates for kids. In Statesboro you can practically play year-round too. The club house could have better food options— much better, but for 9 or 18 holes of golf I doubt you’ll find a better course anywhere close. Small family run establishment and they made sure we were provided with an experience of a lifetime. Went with a small group and we had to wait as there was just one tandem jumper and Casey went with a cheery face and was absolutely amazing . Been through Statesboro several times in my life to visit college friends and passing through on business over the last decade and it's nice to see someone finally built a decent bar. They have a good selection of liquor and craft beer and a really neat bar set up. I've been to the other places in town many times and always hated paying a cover to enter a tiny town bar only to find terrible music played way too loud and a bunch of underage kids who are incredibly rude. This place didn't charge a cover and had a much nicer crowd as well as nice bartenders. The bar reminds me a lot of an Athens bar in terms of style and product. I highly recommend checking it out and I will definitely be returning each time I have to stop in Statesboro. See more..

The GSU Museum has a 26' skeleton of a mosasaur (and other prehistoric artifacts) on display. There is a second room devoted to a display of artifacts related to Camp Lawton . a Civil War POW camp although the end date for this exhibit is unknown. The J.I. Clements Stadium is a beautiful, clean facility. The seats are great and comfortable. Staff is helpful and friendly. The concessions are great - good prices, reasonable lines, good selection of food. I had to ask for a couple of exceptions to the rules to help my elderly parents and each time the staff was happy to oblige which made it so much easier for everyone. See more..

We went to Hanner Fieldhouse to watch the Eagles take on the Panthers of Georgia State. The outside of the building is getting some much needed signage.
