Heritage Park is a relatively large park and very "all purpose". It runs alongside Bayou Bonfouca for over 1/4 mile. Slidell Municipal Marina is at one end of the park with excellent launching facilities for those wishing to boat on Bayou Bonfouca. There is plenty of space for tying up boats along the waterside walkway and, at the other end of the park, facilities for longer term docking / storage of boats. About 15 - 20 vehicles with boat trailers can be parked in the lot adjoining the launch. There is a nice sized, fully gated playground area that is very well equipped with its own adjacent parking area. The main area of the park has a circular 1/6 mile paved walking trail through the center of it that passes by the gazebo and the Ronnie & Gardner Kole Stage at one end of the park. There is a paved walkway all along the Bayou Bonfouca edge of the park and numerous benches and sheltered picnic tables in the park. Nice bathroom setup on site, too! See more..

Wonderful productions with super talent and diversity. Every seat is a good one! Theater is in the rear of the Attractions Salon with stadium seating (only 7 rows) and floor seating too. John Slidell Park is a large and spread out park on the North side of Slidell on Robert Boulevard and just on the Southeast side of I-12. Near the entrance is a large open area with picnic tables and a sizeable, well equipped children's playground with ample parking. In the same area are a couple of baseball fields with controlled access (e.g. for ticket sales) and restrooms. Going on back through the park are a number of additional baseball fields ranging from simple to much better set up (e.g. for Little League games). Toward the back of the park is the John Slidell Recreation Center. Also, access to trails that are both paved and unpaved for walking and/or bike riding -no motorized vehicles of any sort are allowed. This was one of the last activities on our 12 day US road trip and was something I (the dad/husband of the family) had asked to do. My wife and kids (daughter of 16 and son of 21) were quite open in saying they didn't really fancy it but I am really pleased to say they loved the swamp tour as much as I did. This is a very nice and reasonably large neighborhood park. There are two pavilions with picnic tables, plenty of open space with areas for softball, soccer or whatever people want to play. There is the Fritchie Gym and near it and behind the rest room building is a 9 hole disc (Frisbee) golf course that doubles as a nature trail through some woods.
