We attended the White County Creative Writers Conference and not only was the conference set up to make us feel safe and comfortable during this pandemic, but the university site is always a great place for it. We were so thankful they allowed the conference to happen, this year. We drove out from the Tulsa area to attend. Sometimes, you really need a chance to get out and see your friends. My mom (90 years young) and I have fished a minimum of 8 times in the last 3 years with James. We always catch fish. Of course some trips the fish bite better than others, but we have never failed to bring enough home to cook for a late lunch. You can book a half day ( about 4 hours of fishing) or a full day. We started off bright and early and within minutes of getting up river we landed our first brown. From there on it was fish after fish with our browns easily tripling our rainbows which was incredible! Beau was an amazing guide who truly knows his stuff and will do his absolute best to make sure you have a great time! We did the full day trip which included lunch which a lot of times consist of a cold sandwich and chips but not with Beau. He takes you back to Lobo's landing where you get a nice hot meal! I definitely would recommend the cheeseburger as it was quite delicious! I bet we easily caught 40-50 trout today with too many browns to count! If you're looking for a good time and an awesome guide I highly recommend going to see Beau! See more..

Pioneer Village is open daily for self guided tours as a public park. Picnic Tables are available. Buildings are locked. On Saturdays in June, July and August, from 10-2, there are guided tours through the buildings. No admission; donations accepted. Also, there are three Open Houses (Festival Type Events) per year. Spring Open House is the first weekend in May and Fall Festival is the first weekend in November. A special Christmas event is the first Saturday in December with live Santa and Mrs. Clause in a sleigh. Field trips may be scheduled for a nominal fee for any age group!
