   Will and Will made our 39th wedding anniversary sunset cruise amazing! From the time we met at the park until we debarked they made us feel most welcomed. Their knowledge of local bateau history was so interesting! And they answered all our questions. The food....words cannot do it justice! Felt like we had eaten an entire meal! You could certainly tell that Will #1 enjoyed singing and playing his guitar....added so much to the trip! Don't forget to let us know when you record that CD!    We visited this place last year to stay at a local B&B. Had arranged for my wife to have a massage then, and she wanted to take the lady home with us--she said she was that good. So when we were staying at another B*B about 40 miles away, I surprised my wife with another massage with the same lady. Just as superior as the first time. Most definitely worth travelling the 45 minutes it took to get there again. Next time staying or passing through, she;s on our can't miss list!! I suggest you do the same. See more..

   Excellent way to spend a lazy afternoon floating down the James River for three hours. If you are a thrill seeker, this is NOT for you. But if you want to just float along and soak up the sun and the beautiful scenery while staying cool, by all means head down to James River Runners. If you don't mind spending money, there is literally nothing that you need to bring other than a bathing suit. They have everything you need for sale in the office. The staff is helpful--- and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. I asked a lot of questions because I am a bit of a city boy with limited outdoor experience. They patiently answered everything and soon enough I was out on the river having a relaxing time in the sun. See more..

   Entire process was easy, low key, safe and fun. First day we went canoeing, intermediate level trip. I am experienced but less agile than when younger, and my son is less experienced, but we had no trouble, and had great fun with small rapids and riffles. Day 2 we did the tubing, very relaxing. They handled between 300 and 400 tubers that day, and while parking area was somewhat chaotic, the staff handled things well. We had a great time, enjoyed a warm shower at the facility afterwards, and overall had a fantastic experience. Great time, great folks, we will return! See more..

   I did my usual red wine flight. The Petit Verdot was OK but something was just not what I expected. Legacy Red Reserve was a smoother easy to drink wine. Merlot not to my taste. River Bend Red was a blend of PV and Chambourcin. My favorite of the 4, The River Bend. I sat out on their porch which was very relaxing. Had a nice talk with the winemaker. They also have some food available here. I was smelling the pizza, but did not have time to try it. Maybe next time. I expect this place to get better and better as they make their improvements.    With fall finally in the air, we enjoyed our visit to the Scottsville Farmers Market. Meeting old and new friends was a pleasure. Fresh produce is always a draw.
