   We took the tour that takes you through the Pinapolis Locks. The Captain was so informative and the ride through the lock was amazing. You start out on the Tailrace Canal and ride over to the Lock where the water level rises 75 feet and you are then in Lake Moultrie. It truly is an engineering marvel. The trip was only offered in October this year and we are so happy we got to go on this amazing experience.Either before or after the trip be sure to have a meal at Gilligan’s Restaurant!    Not much to do in Santee. We live an hour and a half south and met friends here for a wedding. Long story short, we spent almost 2 hours and $36 and left with some real sweet antiques and collectibles. Gabi herself was very sweet and gracious, and even offered her insight to a few "local" eateries and things to do. We'll be back, if we come to Santee again. See more..

   what a hidden gem to seek out information in the area. Masks are required to enter but we should all know this by now. The employees are wonderful and very knowledgable of the area.    We rented 2 kayaks for 24 hours. It was the best decision ever! I had never been kayaking before, so I had a ton of questions. Lakyn, from Fish Eagle, was absolutely amazing she answered all my questions and even settled all my fears. She is extremely knowledgeable, and super friendly.    Took my family, and future son in-law to Lake Marion for the day. Donna and her husband were great! Not only did we get a boat that fit our needs on the lake and rented 2 waverunners but a great price too. They gave us great directions about the lake and dangers. (including DNR patrolling of the cove) Boats were very clean and ran great. Everyone had a smile on there face all day. Already talking about going back soon. See more..

   This was my 2nd visit to fish one Lake Marion, SC the first was last year June 2020. This is the best Catfishing I've ever experienced and I'm grateful for the opportunity. In 2020 my Blue Catfish catch of the day was 28lbs and this month 2021 I bested that by landing a 33 1/2 pounder. I let him go so maybe next year I'll catch him again this time over 40lbs See more..

   Walking into the store you are met with the sweetest aroma of freshly made pralines! They make them right there in the store daily!!! The pralines are sooo good! I only bought 5 because I didn’t know how well they’d travel across the country….I should have bought more! They were delicious and may have even gotten better after a couple of days. My mom got the turtles and said they were the best she’s had and my dad also enjoyed the fudge. Great place to stop for local treats.
