My husband and I went to the Lipantitlan State Historic Site during a visit to Lake Corpus Christi State Park. The site was occupied by the Mexican army off and on from 1831 to 1842. The Mexicans were attacked and run off at least twice by the Texas volunteers. The site is only 5 acres and has no facilities. There is a paved circle drive through the acreage and an old cistern (water tank) in the middle of the park. The park was well mowed when we arrived Easter weekend. It isn’t much to see but I enjoy history and this is now off my bucket list. To reach the site from the state park, we took park road 25 south. When the road dead-ended at SH-359, we turned right and drove 2 miles. At FM-70, we turned left and drove 4.7 miles. At CR 58 ( CR101), we turned left and drove 1.4 miles.
