State Parks

This small county park is off the beaten path but not difficult to find. There are picnic tables, bathrooms (we didn't go inside so I can't review those) and a mile long walking trail which does a loop to the St. Francis river. The trail takes you past a covered overlook by the river. There was a small Civil War battle fought here in 1863 and there are several signs with good info about the skirmish. Part of the trail is wheelchair accessible but the other part has stairs and is uneven in places with some vertical gain. Good place to picnic and take a walk. See more..
