If your looking for the best... look no further, you found him.. Captain Justin is leaps and bounds above all other guides in the area. We had 10 guys in our group and we all caught a ton of fish. His team will cater to any angler, Young or old. They baited our hooks, took the fish off and cleaned them for us. They will even assist you with a cast or two if you need it. #Best weekend ever See more..

My 16 year old wanted a fishing trip for her birthday! On a family member recommendation we booked Captain Charlie @ Bayou Charters. It was absolutely amazing! We can't wait to go back, for any occasion. See more..

Bottom line, we caught fish! And that was because Capt. Joe V. new where to find them. His boat was clean and well maintained (immaculate is a word that comes to mind). There were 3 men in my group. I would suggest no more than 4 adults, but I personally felt comfortable with only 3 and wouldn't want any more than that. We never had to bait a hook or rig a line. Joe took care of everything. To top it off, all of our fish were cleaned and zip locked for us in a matter of minutes. We did not limit out, but we were informed not to expect to going in. For me, no big deal. I can eat for weeks or even a couple months off of my catch. Overall a great experience, exceeding our expectations. See more..

Captain Britt took us to a few different spots and we caught fish at each one. He would not stop until we got our limit. We all had a great time and went home with 90 trout. When we got back to the dock Captain Britt cleaned all the fish within 30 minutes. I highly recommend this charter. See more..

Our family makes a yearly trip to the amazing waters of south Louisiana looking for Redfish and Sheepshead. We had to find a new captain this year and after some digging and talking we decided to give Capt David a try. He did not disappoint. We fished three days and he put us on fish every day. David is a younger Capt but put us on fish like an old sea dog. See more..

My husband and I drove to Shell Beach to see Fort Proctor (also known as Fort Beauregard or Beauregard's Castle). Be sure to take highway 46 because highway 300 is closed halfway down the road. At Shell Beach, we wanted to see the fort that was across the Gulf Outlet canal. We were not disappointed. We could see the fort but even better with binoculars. The fort can be accessed by boat. At Shell Beach, there is no beach but the many canals and fishing boats were nice to see. We drove to the end of highway 624 and enjoyed seeing more canals and fishing boats. Some of the fisherman were sorting clams and shrimp then loading them into bags. That was interesting as well. See more..
  11. 2.5 Barracuda Lounge (4 reviews)
    - Barracuda Tacos Tchoupitoulas
    Bars & Clubs
This novel no-fuss outdoor eatery serves just a few menu items; tacos of various meats with cabbage slaw and chips and guac. The fish tacos I had were really good, fresh. They are $4 each, the more expensive of the selections. Be sure not to be bold and grab a jar of the sweet/spicy orange sauce on the way to your table. It balances the sweetness of the slaw. They have fresh unsweetened tea. All the picnic tables are out in the back, in the shade and they actually run outdoor chillers in the summer, which they can get away with because the trees provide shade so it works. It's a good place to bring kids, plenty of room for them to wiggle around and the music wasn't too loud or obnoxious either. They have two restrooms which are super clean. They also have margaritas!
