In the past half century, computing has grown from a few gadgets to an almost universal extension of human life. Yet while computing has become commonplace, the history of its innovation is being lost every day, as ‘old’ technology is discarded, recycled or consigned to the landfill. The CMoA was created to preserve this history, and educate visitors on the past and future of computing. See more..

Whenever we visit family in Roswell, we always head to this park to walk. It is a wonderful park with lots of trails and picnic and playground areas. It is a great place for families and for dog walkers. There are many playing fields for team sports too. It is a safe place to walk, and there is also a lake for catch and release fishing. The trails are well marked and mostly level. Many families seem to take advantage of this park. Roswell is fortunate to have such a delightful park. We look forward to our next visit to Roswell and our next walk in this park. See more..

    Big Creek Park image
Big Creek Park is a fantastic place to amble, hike, bike ride or just sit and enjoy nature's bounty in terms of variety and vastness of flora and fauna along the trails. You can enter the park from several locations: The two closest to us are off of Old Alabama Rd. and Haynes Bridge Road, both with plenty of parking. It seems like it's 10-20 degrees cooler along this beltway of connected trails and places for a variety of activities. We love coming here to get away from it all and to lose ourselves listening to the chirping of birds and other animals. If you're lucky, you'll even get to see a deer darting across your path as it moves thru the forested areas in the park. Go; you'll enjoy your visit. See more..

  8. 4.5 Archibald Smith Plantation Home (202 reviews)
    - A Southern Plantation experience
Thursday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites
    Archibald Smith Plantation Home image
Hidden among the trees in historic Roswell, Georgia, sits a graceful home constructed by one of Roswell’s founding families, the Smiths. In 1838, the Smith family and 30 of their slaves left two struggling plantations along the Georgia coast to make a new start with 300 acres of cotton farmland north of the Roswell Square. Their home, built by slave labor in 1845, was preserved by three generations of the Smith family and is now open to the public as a museum. Three generations of the Smith family lived in the home and saved many of their belongings. For over 160 years, Smith Plantation stood the test of time as all around it the small mill village of Roswell transformed into a bustling metropolitan suburb. The home has since become one of the best examples of vernacular architecture, as well as cultural and historical interpretation, found in the region. See more..

    Old Mill Park image
The scenery here is absolutely beautiful. My family and I enjoyed exploring the trails, getting wet in the creek and learning about Roswell's history. This was by far the best part of our trip and my family agrees hands down, we could have spent the whole day there exploring. Such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Also the park and creek were very clean. Seems to be a locals favorite for families to visit, picnic, hike and take a dip in the creek to cool off on those hot summer days. A must see if you ever visit Roswell. See more..

  12. 4.5 Vickery Creek Trail (123 reviews)
    - A gem close to home.
    Hiking Trails
    Vickery Creek Trail image
A hidden jewel close to home. My neph and I were headed a couple hours away to Toccoa Falls in north GA mountain area for day hike. Then, I remembered Vickery trail was actually closer to home than I thought. Labor day weekend was a beautiful day to get out, enjoy the scenery-the hike is along Chatahoochee river, get some exercise-trail starting at Riverside drive entrance to the waterfall is about 2 miles, 4-5 miles total depending on route; take this route with caution. Be careful, there are some steep cliff faces that can be a little tricky crossing. The trail is densely populated with beautiful forestry offering the perfect shade for this unpaved hike. I recommend starting/parking at the Old Mill Park as the trail will be a little easier. The waterfall is the grand finale and offers a awesome view after a great hike. Overlook the bridge for more awesome views and go up and down stairs for vantage points of the fall. Enjoy and be safe. See more..

A beautiful natural park right in the heart of Roswell. There are several different levels of trails to choose from: Red 2.5 miles, Blue 2.0 miles, Yellow 1.1 miles. The trails are well maintained. Lots of trees here. Small stream running through the park, and lake on the Red and Blue trails. There are lots of benches and swing seats right by the water so you can repose and have a picnic. Neat pavilion at the starting point of the trails. There are several maps posted as you walk the trails, so you know where you are. Also markers indicating how far you are on the trail. A Southern Trilogy image
Mr. Douglas, I am from Missouri and working in the Atlanta area for a time. My only day off is Sunday and I spent a part of today in Roswell. While the homes were beautiful I have to give kudos to Jane Streek who guided the tour of the Smith Plantation. I LOVED her tour!!! The plantation was fascinating and beautiful and it would have been great with just that. However, Jane's knowledge and more importantly, her passion for what she does made it over the top. You have a true jewell in both the plantation and in Jane. I hope you will pass along my thanks to her once again. I've already recommended it to some friends and will continue to do so. Have a blessed week! Debbie Waggoner See more..

    Azalea Park image
My husband and I are new to the area and enjoy exploring the many parks we are lucky to have. Our neighbor recommended this park and I am really glad he did. We went on a Sunday, so it was pretty busy. We were lucky enough to find parking in one of the lots, but it took awhile. We packed a picnic and wanted to find a place away from others. We did find a place not far from the river and tucked behind a building so it was perfect. We really enjoy our picnic and then we decided to take a walk and really enjoyed the walking area at the park as well. It was fun to see people kayaking and tubing down the river. We will definitely visit this park again, it was a wonderful day. See more..
