The Margaret Harwell Art Museum was founded in 1981 from money bequeathed to the city of Poplar Bluff by the late Margaret Harwell. Margaret loved art and her community. With her donation, a committee was formed to create an art museum. The historic Moore-Dalton Home was selected. The second resident of the home, James Dalton, patented the first adding machine in the United States in 1904. He made a huge fortune with this remarkable advancement of technology. His history, a fabulous permanent collection, as well as traveling exhibits may be found inside, six days a week (museum closes between exhibits so check our web page for updated schedules). There is a beautiful sculpture garden that wraps around the building which is accessible 24/7. Handicap parking in rear with an ADA path through the garden and into the front entrance of the museum. We will be having the second Iron Mountain Market fall festival on October 25 at the historic train depot there will be a costume contest for kids 12 and under, live entertainment, a grilled cheese contest. We have booth spaces available for 10 dollars or 15 for electric. The grilled cheese contest entry fee is 10 dollars as well you will need to supply your griddle and table for it. We played yesterday 09/08/22 and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. the course is exceptionally well manicured, mowed, and trimmed where needed. The greens were fairly fast with some tricky undulations. Co-players said traps were testy but fair. This course is one of Missour's best kept secrets. I would rate it above Dalhousie Golf course, which we played two weeks ago, for the above average golfers. See more..

This is a beautiful and well maintained city park...featuring two playground areas for young visitors; a frisbee golf course; a picnic pavilion and a walking trail, that features a "nature walk area" in part. Wife and I got to the show a bit early the other day. They still have the overhead lights on. I was shocked to see what the seats look like. At first I just thought I had found a dirty one but upon looking around I realized they were all this way. I might advise that you don’t get there so early that the lights haven’t been dimmed or you will spend the entire movie wondering what might be growing or crawling on your bottom See more..

I grew up going to the Rodgers and have many great memories of sitting up front and in the balcony watching the giant screen. It seems such a shame that the restoration committee is so slow to make the necessary renovations so the theater has more of it's former glory. I have attended plays presented there and nearly froze during the winter performance and burned up during the summer so there is a definite need to get climate control mastered. This is a place to walk down memory lane for those of us who grew up here and a nostalgic visit for those who didn't. See more..

Me and a buddy went down that way to do a little shopping for fishing supplies. We decided to go to Westwood for a burger and a beer after we picked up our equipment. We walk in and set at the bar. The waitress/barmaid was at the bar talking to I'm assuming was one of her friends and left us just setting there for over 10 minutes until I asked if we could please get something to drink. We where the only 4 in the entire place!! We ordered burgers and fries which turns out wasn't bad but the service stayed the same the entire time we where there and as more people came in it got worse. We where in kind of a mood to unwind a little but couldn't get waited on so we had to go to Coltons to finish up. If I would have know this I would have went there to start.
