   My 3 boys (ages 13, 9, and 5) and I took a road trip to see this place. Loved the sweet lady who showed us around this small museum! The memories she shared of when she was a student here really made it special. There is a nice little collection of artifacts, it's beautifully restored, but seeing her love for her childhood school made the history come to life for us.    It's just amazing to know those early Arkansas settlers were able to build the house and outbuildings with hand tools (in 1828) and then survive, raise families and thrive in such a remote place and to instill in their children and future generations the importance of home and family.    WOW!!! I don’t use that word often. “God’s Favorite,” a Neil Simon comedy, is currently showing. The actors were amazing, their timing & delivery spot on. Who knew such talent lurked in this area? & Who knew the iconic Imperial Movie Theater would survive & serve as a “2nd Act” in the new millenium? Kelly Grooms is the mastermind behind the stellar productions featured in this renovated historic 1941 building. The stage & sets are amazing. The elegant tables & very comfortable chairs are spaciously arranged to seat 100. The intimate atmosphere ensures excellent acoustics & no bad seats in the house. A warm welcome awaits Patrons ~ plus a Beverage & Dessert are served prior to the show.    Site of Arkansas’s first post office, courthouse and land office. Davidsonville faded away close to 15 years after being established in 1815. A park with camping, lake and river fishing, trails, pavilions, playgrounds and picnic areas surrounds Trappers Lake. The visitor center features a replica 1820’s hunter-trapper flatboat, interactive virtual tour of the historic town, and exhibits that explore the history of Davidsonville and life on the Arkansas frontier.    We drove around the town square to see the architecture. The most interesting find was the former Randolph County Courthouse on the town's square in Downtown Pocahontas. The building is quite beautiful. See more..
