  1. 5.0 Straka Meats (1 review)
    - More than just meat
Speciality & Gift Shops • Farmers Markets
We had a local recommend this meat market to us while visiting the Spring Green area. This full service market is clean and attractive and carries a wide selection of meats fresh and cured. If you are an out-of-town visitor like us, you'll love the selection of deer and elk along with the regular favorites like beef, ham and premium bacon. Since we were camping, we purchased some excellent steaks to cook out, plus packed more in our freezer to enjoy at home. They also carry a selection of jams and dairy products. The block of Amish butter I purchased might be one of my favorite, long lasting souvenirs for our trip. If you are feeling adventurous, the market also sells their used Victorinox de-boning knives as well as blocks of new knive sets. See more..
  2. 4.0 Cedar Grove Cheese (24 reviews)
    - Oh My, Cheese!

Staying in Spring Green, we had Cedar Grove Cheese recommended to us as an award-winning factory. They had an amazing selection! Visiting during a time of COVID, there were no samples, so we were guessing at our purchases, but the staff was very helpful with suggestions. We recommend the butterkase cheese and of course - the cheese curds! Tip: If you have a way to keep things frozen, they have a selection of frozen cheese curds that are the best value for your money. Take them home, let them thaw and they are just as squeaky as fresh. There was also a small walkway of windows where you can watch the cheese being made. They are usually done for the day by mid-afternoon, so we recommend going early if you want to see the factory in action. See more..
  3. 4.0 Old Franklin Township Historical Society (1 review)
    - Out of the way but make a trip if into history.
Spent < 1 hour History Museums

Plain, Wisconsin, is out of the way place several miles north of heavily traveled Highway 14 that goes through Spring Green. And while everyone visits Frank Lloyd Wright's gems at Spring Green, few people bother driving north into the "hills" on highway 23 - that's where this little museum is located. If you are in habit of visiting local history museums - make a trip! It's only open on some Sundays in summer, but you can find the phone number on their website and visit it by appointment.
