  2. 5.0 The Joyful Jewel (19 reviews)
    - Exciting
Saturday: 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM Art Galleries
    The Joyful Jewel image
As an amateur artist I get excited when I can look at art. The Joyful Jewel reminds me of Aladdin's Cave (which I've only seen in movies). It has such a great variety of art and is always getting in new things that I'm always stimulated when I visit. I come for artist dates - to refuel on colors and shapes and media. Photography. Pottery. Dream catchers. Jewelry. Clothing. Knitted items. Paintings. Wood work. Ironwork. You won't find any commercially produced items here, except for artist created card reproductions, photo prints, or giclees, but nothing made in China or for mass markets. Definitely a must visit attraction. There's items at every price level, and all of it a surprisingly less than you'd find in a big city. I highly recommend it. See more..

  5. 5.0 Screaming For Vintage (6 reviews)
    - Like Walking into the 60s and 70s!
Spent < 1 hour Antique Shops
    Screaming For Vintage image
Someone time traveled and rounded up all of the best furniture from the 60s and 70s. These folks have all kinds of things ranging from decor items to clothing to very high-end mid century modern furniture. The current operators did a masterful job renovating what had been the Beggars and Choosers store. The new space is bright and open and has just the right amount of merchandise. I'm still swooning over a gorgeous navy blue enameled 60s fireplace in there! Two thumbs up! See more..
  6. 5.0 The Small Museum of Folk Art (5 reviews)
    - See something different
    Saturday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Art Museums
The Small Museum of Folk Art image
On the grounds of the Small B&B Cafe, no admission fee just suggested donation of $5. You could do a quick walk-through the small space to get a feel for Outsider Art and have a few smiles, or you could stay longer and study every fascinating piece of the collection. I enjoyed it very much. Humor and color abound, as well as angels, devils, and a good number of Elvises. Everything is very neatly displayed and clean - it must be a real chore to dust! See more..

    - Shuttle Service to and from airports or home
    Taxis & Shuttles
GFW Shuttle Service is outstanding. We had to call at the last minute to get a ride from RDU Airport to Greensboro late at night and Jesse, the owner, found us a driver immediately. He is totally professional and the driver was outstanding. We also used him to get from the Triad area to Charlotte Airport very early in the morning - again no hassle - driver was outstanding. All our bookings were last minute and Jesse totally accommodated us with such a pleasant fabulous customer service attitude. See more..
  8. 5.0 Finders & Seekers Emporium (1 review)
    - A great little find in Pittsboro, NC
    Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
Cruising around the county seat (Chatham County, NC), we stumbled upon this great little shop that opened only a few weeks ago. Finders & Seekers EMPORIUM is tucked into a renovated historic building that was originally the Pittsboro Hatchery in 1953. It's a fresh take on a variety store expected to offer a rotating blend of goods - vintage and new. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. "Curated" is the operative word. You can tell that the details were well thought out. It even unexpectedly saved me a trip to a yarn store! Looking forward to visiting frequently! Good luck to the staff -- hope it's a great success! Since I'm not into yard art, I overlooked this place until a neighbor said they have fabulous international fabrics and one of a kind items. I'm not sure why they have an African and a French vibe, but it works. They even had "oilcloth" which is really vinyl laminated fabrics which can be hard to find in anything other than red gingham. Maybe you’ve heard of mead from literature (Beowulf, Shakespeare, Harry Potter…) or maybe you remember it from your history books. Whatever you may already know, now is the perfect time to explore mead: wine made from honey. Refined, refreshing, and far from the sticky sweet you might expect, our award-winning meads will open up a whole new opportunity for you. Let us introduce you to honey wine varieties as engaging, diverse, and exceptional as you would find in the world of traditional wine made from grapes. Try our meads that span traditional tastes, similar to white wine, to fruit-infused choices like spiced apple and blackberry. Venture into our subtle herb-infused wines, seasonal favorites like our margarita-style “Honeyed Rita,” and special wines that highlight the variety of taste from honey. See more..

It used to be cluttered with a damp, musty basement but all that has changed. Now it's a pleasure to walk through and the basement no longer smells like mildew. If you love mid-century modern the basement is the place for you (I didn't want to leave). I was advised to check this place for a beige or khaki skirt. There are separate rooms depending on the quality or brand names of items for resale. There are specials listed in the windows. This shop was not open on the Thursday, I went. I had an opportunity to return on a Saturday and the place was very busy. Yes! I found a skirt! I did have it dry cleaned due to the linen in the skirt. Very good purchase and I plan to return. See more..

    Chatham Historical Museum image
The Chatham County Historical Museum is located inside the Chatham County Courthouse. The original bricks of the building are the only thing that survived the 2010 fire. Admission is free to visit the museum. The museum is good sized and contains a lot of history. Some of the exhibits you read, others you can listen to the history; then there are a lot of visuals. The museum is in one room and a gallery in another. There is also a gift shop. Volunteers are there to answer any questions that you have and provide background information on the county and the building. I was also able to tour the renovated courtroom and go out on the balcony. If you are in the Pittsboro area, this museum is worth a visit. See more..

    - Super Spa
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 2-3 hours Spas
I am PICKY, PICKY, PICKY about my manicures and pedicures. If a salon isn't clean, I'm outa there. This place is very, very clean. Plus, it has the spa vibe down pat ... and the spa prices. But hey you get what you pay for, right? I had a manicure with Angela. Ohhhh ... yummy. She's lovely, gentle, well-mannered, soft spoken, and does a socko manicure. My nails were ratty-tatty and she got them into shape and my manicure lasted over a week. I'm headed back. See more..
