    - Great Historical Museum
    History Museums
I love visiting this Museum. It's very interesting and the people that run it make sure that the displays are updated with new displays periodically so it never gets boring. Wonderful artifacts and history of the people in this area. Fun to go through with the elementary aged children, too. Great job! See more..

First time at Big Elk Campground and we absolutely loved it. Everyone is so friendly. They try really hard to keep the facilities clean. The environment is family friendly. No drama. The float trips are pretty awsome too. Thank you! See more..

    State Parks
Big Sugar Creek State Park image
Hike a trail back into history. Big Sugar Creek State Park is a rugged landscape of rare shrubs and trees not often seen anymore in Missouri. Visitors can find solitude in hiking through shady upland woodlands and sunny grassy glades while passing near numerous rock ledges. Notable plants such as the Ozark Chinquapin tree and low prickly pear cactus can be found. See more..
  5. 2.0 Elk River Floats & Kozy Kamp (27 reviews)
    - You’ve been warned
    Kayaking & Canoeing
Elk River Floats & Kozy Kamp image
Possible the worst place I’ve every stayed. There are facilities but it would be no difference in using the restroom in the woods. Have to bring your own toilet paper. No showers. Was completely flooded for the most part and staff is next to useless and rude. Wrist band also was cheaply made and fell off. Had to pay double even thou same person gave me the wristband. Camp sites not marked and basically a free for all which lead to many people wondering through ours. Very disorganized the rate was 15$ a Person for basically nothing. Also due to heavy rain they wouldn’t allow me to use my own boats/raft to put in at there location and get out at there other locations. Insisted it was a liability and had to use there equipment for extra money. The public let in was 100 yards away carried my gear to that boat ramp. Be aware this organization has many places along the elk. Kozy kamp, wayside, shade beach and others. See more..
