When you are in Pinehurst there are a few must stops, The Pinehurst Olive oil company is one of those stops. It's a little hard to find unless you look down, lol because it's located below an existing store front. Inside the staff is very knowledgable on all the products they sell. Mostly custom blended olive oils and balsamic vinegars. They allow you to taste test all of the products. They also have local honey and crackers/treats to compliment the oils and vinegars. 2. 5.0 Kirk Tours & Limousine (6 reviews)
    - My favorite narrated after tour for my guests!

I'm so happy with the amazing amount of information that Marva stores in her memory bank! She's the quintessential tour guide. And she knows so much history about The Village of Pinehurst. I've taken this tour 4 times now, each time with my out-of-town guests. And each time I've learned a little more. So, each trip is very informational but never boring! They thoroughly enjoy all the information that Marva gives while driving the air-conditioned van through the village. Once I brought 14 gals who came for a golf vacation, and she was able to do back to back tours for 7 gals each trip. You don't get off of the bus during the tour, so if it's a very hot summer day, you'll stay cool and still enjoy your day. You will enjoy this informative time, so don't hesitate to go! See more..

  6. 5.0 Pinehurst #5 (1 review)
    - a great day playing golf
    Golf Courses
    Pinehurst #5 image
This is an underrated golf course at the Pinehurst complex. It starts at the main complex where there are several practice greens in addition to the putting course and Cradle par 3 course and a great short game practice area. #5 used to start at the clubhouse and then across the street but they made the excellent change to convert the first hole into the Cradle par 3 course. To make up for the lost hole, they added a nice downhill par 3. Great move. The course is always in great shape and this time was no exception. The course very much follows the lay of the land with many tee shots downhill and approach shots uphill. This makes the course play longer and more difficult than you would think. It has a nice mixture of holes, long/short, right/left doglegs, etc. Well conditioned and the greens were excellent. See more..
  7. 5.0 The Cradle (1 review)
    - Unfortunately had to hit off mats off every hole
    Golf Courses
    The Cradle image
This is an awesome and very scenic short part 3 course. Unfortunately due to the amount of play the course receives they have hitting off mats on every hole. I don't like hitting off mats but I understand the need for them. The potential teeing areas were huge so they have a lot of flexibility in how long they make each hole. When we played the holes ranged from about 60 to 130 yards so you may need a variety of clubs. There were many deep and visually intimidating bunkers, but they would not generally be in play for a halfway decent golfer. Rookie golfers or high handicappers may have a lot of difficulty with them. The greens were generally large and in awesome shape - lots of humps and mounds and ridges in them. And edges of the holes were cut very sharply so you had to be inside the hole to make a putt. The new snack bar was open even though it was very cold and we there were two of only a few golfers on the course. It had a good selection of beers, including the local Man of Law IPA on draft, one of my husbands favorites. The also recently added two new fire pits, which were awesome to warm us up. Plan on going back soon. See more..

We came here for our anniversary and will be back every year from here on out! Julia and Kelly in customer service were so accommodating! Everyone made us feel so special. We had dinner at 1895 and the staff was wonderful, especially Al. My husband played course 8 and wouldn’t stop saying how phenomenal it was. The spa was a real treat, I got a massage and the whole staff was so friendly. The smoothies were great too. The room was exceptional we had a king suite in the Carolina hotel and I have never slept better. Breakfast was delicious and they had so many options. We also used the bikes to travel around and had fun getting lost. Thank you Pinehurst for your hospitality, I am sad to leave but definitely have something to look forward too. See more..

    - Fun to play
    Golf Courses
    Pinehurst Course Number 8 image
The course works it way through rolling hills, trees and waste bunkers with a little water thrown in for good measure. This is a very enjoyable golf course with tough putting surfaces. The clubhouse is large, but it was very quiet. Hardly anyone was around. It felt very removed from the rest of the resort, but maybe that’s a good thing. I would definitely put this on the play list when visiting Pinehurst. See more..

    Village Shops at Pinehurst image
Thought we’d spend a good afternoon, but went through the entire village in an hour. Limited shopping and no place to get a good cup of coffee. (Found out later to go to the library for coffee). Also beware of all the steps/stairs and uneven walkways to the shops. Definitely not ADA compliant— not accessible for wheelchairs, or those with walking limitations. We had to carry our friends baby stroller up and down stairs to get into shops. See more..

Gwen makes great wine selections, does an inexpensive tasting, or you can have a wine by the glass. On a visit last week, I sat next to a couple from Charlotte on one side and from Miami on the other. Meanwhile, many of us residents popped in and out, like a family gathering. Ridiculously cute wine and golf gift selections! See more..
  19. 4.5 Pinehurst Resort Thistle Dhu (3 reviews)
    - Ridiculously Fun
Saturday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Miniature Golf
The mini golf putting course is a wacky putt putt course without the windmills, waterfalls, or tricks. It has a lot of character such as the punch bowl Number 6 with ball gravitating toward hole. And some of the mounds are beyond ridiculous to try and have ball go over such and then stop close to hole....almost impossible. I had two four putts and five three putts. If you can par this, wow. Again it is fun and can be good clean fun competition. One note: Thistle Dhu rolls differently than the playing greens of actual course. So my advice to you is to enjoy it after your round or after playing the Cradle, the new short course. Enjoy Pinehurst Thistle Dhu putting course! See more..
  20. 4.0 Pinehurst Course Number 4 (38 reviews)
    - we were excited to play the updated course
    Golf Courses
    Pinehurst Course Number 4 image
I guess I will have to get used to the look of lots of waste areas. Not as pretty as I remember this course being. Even from the red tees, the course is pretty long for us senior women. Number 9 has a waste area that is too big to carry even if hit a good drive (for a short hitter that has a reasonable handicap because she chips and putts well). A couple of the greens were a bit too tricked up. Otherwise we had a very good time. It's February so the condition of the greens wasn't great... not as good as some others I have played in the area this month. Dont know if thats because it is fairly new. Starter was great. 21. 4.0 The Spa at Pinehurst (32 reviews)
    - Already thinking ahead to next visit
    Spent 2-3 hours Spas
    The Spa at Pinehurst image
I made a surprise reservation for my sister and me to visit the spa while she visited from out of state. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable day - swimming, using the hot tub, facials, drinking delicious smoothies, and enjoying the beautiful weather (sitting out on the porch). Tips to plan your visit: 1) Bring your bathing suit. Plan to come early or stay after your treatment to enjoy the smoothies and pool/hot tub, or just sit and relax, 2) You don't have to bring toiletries. Everything you need from shampoo and body wash to Fraser and q-tips is available in the locker room. 3) Bring cash to tip the staff there. They deserve it - very kind and accommodating and helped make our day special. I look forward to my next opportunity to visit! See more..
  22. 3.5 Foxfire Golf & Country Club (65 reviews)
    - Not busy on a Tuesday. Nice course
    Golf Courses
Foxfire Golf & Country Club image
Golfed on a Tuesday mid day and we had the grey course to ourselves. Greens are in good shape. Recently airiated but still good. Fairways were in good shape. Rough was thick and challenging. Great design. Nice clubhouse. Bunkers were a bit hard. Cart paths were a bit bumpy. Only a few ball washers. No drinking water on the course But, it was sooooo nice having the course not busy and challenging!!! It was not apparent where to get to the clubhouse at the turn. Make sure you ask! See more..
  23. 3.5 Pinehurst #7 (2 reviews)
    - A difficult course
    Golf Courses
    Pinehurst #7 image
This is a very difficult Reese Jones layout which I've been playing since it was first built. The course is separate from the main Pinehurst resort and has a practice green by the clubhouse, a huge driving range with many targets (a bit away from the clubhouse), and a small short game practice area with a bunker and several spots from which you can chip to 3 target pins by the first tee. It's fairly open off the tee but very difficult green complexes. And many greens have uphill approach shots, some off downhill lies where you cannot see the surface of the green (which makes depth perception difficult and you have no idea how your shot turned out). And it makes the course play much longer than listed. Several years ago Reese did a redesign on the course which softened some of the green complexes and change the bunkering. This was a really good upgrade. And the way in which the fairway and greenside bunkers define the course. See more..

As in previous reviewer, there on Friday at 6:30 and deserted. Nice atmosphere, despite being empty couldn't get drink refills. Food came out without fries on the side and three small pieces of fish were almost gone before they arrived. Portions were lunch sized but dinner priced and food marginal. Could have had better fish at Long John Silvers. See more..
