First of all, be prepared to take a few twists and turns to get to the little park where the shrimp boat Scranton sits, but it is well worth the work it takes to get there! The entry fee is just $2 per adult and you'll get a great explanation about how shrimp fishing works, an explanation of local sea life, and a better appreciation for the work that goes on onboard the fishing vessels you see in all the local marinas! Don't wait, stop by today! See more..

This is a small nature center, but it is packed with lots of information and a great tour guide. It is very inexpensive and family friendly. The grand kids loved it. It is part of a park so there are things to do there. They have a few animals which included 2 peacocks and to rabbits. It is has a lake with ducks and the water is full of fish and other water animals.. It also has a bridge that you can walk out on to see the animals out in the lake. I would highly recommend this to everyone. So come on by check it out . See more..

    - A gem of history

    Round Island Lighthouse image
If you are in Pascagoula on a Fri or Sat stop by and see this lighthouse. It is on land and there is someone there that will tell you the wonderful history about it. The best part is I paid $3.00 for my grandson and I to go in it and walk to the top and had a great tour guide to tell us all about it. He did not want to go but when we left he told me he was glad we came there. He thought it was cool to hear about it. The only down side is there is no parking there but I have seen people park on the side of the road. We walk down to the pier that is close by and walked to the lighthouse. The walk gave us a chance to share our experience about going inside of it. I was told there are plans to put parking and a visitor center on the grounds, but that is down the road. So if you are in the area, come by and check it out. You will not be disappointed. See more..

Located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Pascagoula, the LaPointe-Krebs house, built in 1757, is the oldest structure in Mississippi and is the oldest confirmed building in the entire Mississippi Valley. Dating from the French Colonial period, the LaPointe-Krebs house (formerly known as the Old Spanish Fort) pre-dates the American Revolutionary War by over two decades. The restoration of this historic house was completed in May of 2021 and is now available for tours. There is an adjacent museum that is open for viewing. The museum presents exihibits related to local history and to the house and its unique construction. While modest in size, the museum has earned two international design awards for the two Jackson based firms responsible for its design. See more..
