- 5.0 Muscatine Art Center (26 reviews)
-A TRUE GEM
Friday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Art Museums • History Museums
Once the private home of a lumber heiress, the Musser Museum features many distinctive architectural details of the Edwardian period. The adjoining Stanley Gallery hosts national, traveling art exhibitions. Funded in part by the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Muscatine Art Center is one of only 802 museums nationwide accredited by the American Association of Museums. This honor signifies that the Art Center has undergone a rigorous and lengthy process involving intensive self-examination, peer review and a thorough examination by the Accreditation Commission. Accreditation by the AAM means the Muscatine Art Center is recognized for demonstrating excellence and operating in accordance with the best practices and highest standards in the field. See more..

-Wonderful brewery
Friday: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Breweries
Stopped at this brewery on a Sunday afternoon. Live music, with the talented Monica Austin, and a wonderful selection appetizers. Tried several of their beers and enjoyed every one of them. Can’t wait to go back and sit on the patio with a view of the Mississippi. See more..
- 5.0 Missipi Brew (5 reviews)
-Super Friendly Service
Friday: 11:00 AM - 2:00 AM Bars & Clubs
Double check the hours of service. On this it said it was closed. But it was open when we drove past and decided to stop for dinner. They have a fun menu of American cuisine. My teenage boys loved their burgers with creamy Mac n Cheese on it. Different and fun. We sat out on the patio with a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and State Park. Our server was very fun and super friendly. Note: We thought this was a brewery. Don't get misled by the name. There is one right down the street that I'm about to review too. See more..

i was in this unique vintage store recently and was so thrilled to see some of the things I saw. so many things took me down memory lane! If you go in there and dont walk out with something, then there is something wrong with you! lol! the owner, Lorie, is the most humble and accomodating lady. She knows so much about this business! I understood she used to be in Eldridge, Iowa on Leclaire Rd but recently moved to this location in Muscatine and they are lucky to have her there! go in and look around and walk out with something! you wont regret it. - 4.5 Wildcat Den State Park (22 reviews)
-"A Great Place To Visit Anytime Of The Year"
Points of Interest & Landmarks • Scenic Walking Areas
Wildcat Den has always been a favorite place of mine. Unlike our neighboring state of Illinois, the state parks in Iowa remain open during this unusual time of the COVID-19 Virus. When I visited Wildcat Den there were numerous families there enjoying the crisp, sunny day. I even encountered two men from a neighboring city in Illinois running their remote controlled trucks in a stream bed.Granted, everyone was observing "social distancing". Wildcat Den is known for the rock features such as the Punch Bowl and Steamboat Rock and you'll get a good workout as the trails wind up and down the terrain. As with many state parks, the trails lack maintenance because there is never enough staff to make needed repairs. As a result you'll be going around staircases that have been damaged due to erosion. At this time when other states are closing parks, I can't find much fault with that. It was just great to enjoy this natural wonder! See more..

-Good views of the river, the bridge and downtown
Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts
It was an easy walk from Muscatine downtown. You will have to climb some stairs to get to the top and get winded. It is a small park with some tables and chairs and a memorial to Mark Twain's stay in Muscatine. Perhaps, this could be a good spot for a picnic with views of downtown Muscatine, the Mississippi river and the bridge across the river. There are a few restaurants at the bottom of the hill.
