Full Disclosure.....My husband is in a band that performed at The Front Porch Stage so I could be a little biased. His band has performed there twice, and we have gone to see other bands as well. There is a real community feel to the venue. People of all ages come out with their blankets and lawn chairs. The music varies with the performers so each week is different. Sometimes it is gospel or country. Other times you'll see singer/songwriters or folk. Everything s pretty downhome. We hope to make it back two or three times next year. See more..

This is the best kayaking trip in Arkansas! I have been to Franks place every year over the last 6 years and every trip gets better. He shuttles our kayaks where we want to put in and we are on the river for three to four days, just fishing and paddling. The river is great, even though there are some small rapids however the fishing is amazing in late May and Early June. Franks place is a gem alongside the river and he and Susan are a treat to talk to and fellowship with. You can swim, fish, kayak, canoe, camp (cabin or tent), have group outings, even spend a quiet weekend without phone service with your spouse and Frank will cook for you and your family. We were half hour late to the tour due to our miscalculation. We called to inform her but Lisa was very accommodating saying we had the private tour so no big deal. She’s very friendly and professional, knows the lake really well. She took us to see wild lives, and a special stop at an island for swimming and quartz finding. My husband was able to drop the line for fishing at various spots. She also gave us several tips on camping and local area. The kayaks and paddles that she uses are top notch - light weight and good brands. We are so happy to have taken this trip with Lisa’s company. It was a very relaxing kayaking trip. See more..

Crystal vista was a nice dig. The uphill hike was not bad although we went by the mine site before turning hund as it is overgrown after 20 yrs inactive. We tried the rock face and were rewarded with 2 small pockets. Another nice gentleman was up the hill and really knew what he was doing, came ot with some very nice clusters. Tuesday: Spent 2-3 hours Geologic Formations • Mines

We had a pretty good time hunting in the mine but found only small crystals here. According to "Dave" who was watching the mine while the main guys were in town at a festival said that was the norm at Arrowhead. Considering the fee (20 bucks) we felt good about the quality and quantity we found. Just a bit disappointed that we didn't find much that was larger than about 1/4" in width. All in all fun, not a bad day. Warning though for drivers of small cars... the road in is rough and I did use 4wd going in. Pretty deep ruts so be careful not to get high centered. See more..
