- 5.0 Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (445 reviews)
-Who would have thought
Churches & Cathedrals
Amazing cathedral! Never thought I would find such a beautiful church and cathedral down south. One of my favorite stained glass windows including the ones I’ve seen in France and Spain. It represents the Infant Mary being presented to the priest. Her expression of sublime admiration is so incredible she looks like she is in a state of ecstacy. The level of admiration is only possible when one practices the height of purity and humility See more..
- 5.0 Crescent Theater (164 reviews)
-Outstanding Owner Of A Marvelous Theater
Thursday: 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM Theaters
We were visiting Mobile for the first time while attending a convention. Before going we had looked at things to do in Mobile and noted the high reviews the Crescent Theater had. On the first day we were there, during some free time, we went walking around the downtown area. We encountered the Crescent Theater and noticed it was showing a movie we wanted to see. Not having the time to see it then, we returned to our hotel. Later in the week we had an afternoon free and made a beeline to the theater. While we were expecting a quaint theater, we had not expected the delightful owner who sold us the tickets and then chatted with us for quite a while. He alone was worth the price of admission. Needless to say we also enjoyed the show I expect to be back in Mobile in June 2023 and will definitely go see whatever is showing. I only regret that there is not an equivalent place near my home See more..

- 5.0 Middle Bay Lighthouse (8 reviews)
-Unique site, must visit by boat.
Thursday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 1-2 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lighthouses
We took a ride with Captain Tommy Rachel of Gulf Boat Tours to be able to visit this unique lighthouse which sits in the middle of Mobile Bay. The sturdy lighthouse has survived the years of weather with the exception of the light housing on top. The hexagon shaped lighthouse sits approximately 25' above the water on a metal frame with a dock at water level. The walls, door, dormer windows & catwalk, as well as the base of the light housing remain. History is that at one time lightkeepers wife had a child & a cow was brought to stay on the lighthouse when they needed milk for that child. Captain Rachel said the lightkeepers family were relatives of his family. See more..

A portion of the jail foundation and jail doors can still be seen in the house. In 1849, the building was purchased by Jonathan Kirkbride and converted into his family residence. The Conde-Charlotte Museum is now furnished with period antiques reflecting Mobile’s history under five flags: French, English, Spanish, Confederate and American. The variety and authenticity of the furnishings make the house a charming museum, with two confederate parlors, an American Federal dining room, a British Commandant’s room, a French sitting room and bedroom, and two American bedrooms. A walled Spanish garden of the late 18th century design and a kitchen filled with late 19th and early 20th century equipment complement the house. See more..
- 4.5 Mobile Bay (149 reviews)
-Every day life
Marinas • Historic Sites • Bodies of Water
I moved to the Mobile area 12 years ago. Oblivious to what Mobile Bay really was. I'm an outdoorsman and have been my whole life. I saw the muddy waters and didn't see the magnificent eco- system that exists here. This huge Area of Watershed: 44,582 square miles creates a tremendous estuary system supporting numerous species. 11 rivers lend water to Mobile Bay. This is a huge estuary system. One of the largest in the US. Species such as the Manatee, Bald Eagle, & Gulf Sturgeon are just a few species that use this area. Not to mention the seafood nurseries for Shrimp, oysters & fin-fish that exists because of this estuary. Muddy Water is not always what it appears to be. Come enjoy this area. It's worth your time and effort to dig into it a little bit. See more..

- 4.5 Mobile Symphony Orchestra (17 reviews)
-Nice performance, but sit downstairs!
Symphonies
We attended the Aaron Copeland concert last night, and while it was a nice concert, we wished we had bought seats downstairs. The balcony area seats were tiny and uncomfortable, and there was no leg room! (My knees were touching the chair in front of me.) The seating downstairs is much, much better! That being said, all of the staff and volunteers were very, very helpful and nice, and the symphony itself makes great effort to involve the audience. Watch for BOGO specials the day or two before the concerts to get the best bang for your buck. (Pssst...college students can go for super cheap, just show your college ID at the box office!)
